Yes I definitely use coupons for products that ordinarily I would be buying anyway. Sometimes I see coupons for products I'd like to try, but I don't know how much I'm going to like them until I've tried them, I'm grateful to have a coupon. Sometimes I even end up liking the product so much that I switch to that product for the future irrespective of whether I have a coupon or not!

I think your not saving money at all if you using coupons to buy things you wouldnt normally buy that just seems contradicting to me.

I don't use coupons that much and everytime I see a coupon, it's for something that I don't use. But I like using coupons when I want a product.

I use coupons occasionally -- for items where I've determined I prefer a brand name item rather than the store brand.  For most things, however, I've discovered that the store brand is just as good and significantly cheaper than the brand name even with a coupon.

Unfortunately, most of the items where I prefer the brand name product do not often have coupons available -- but when I find one, I use it.

I use coupons more for household and beauty products than food. I have used coupons for products I don't normally buy if it's a good deal with the coupon

I don't use coupons, although I would like to get really good at it and buy a bunch of groceries for like 10 cents. lol.  We don't have a lot of competition as far as stores go around here.  One store won't take printed coupons from the net.  Guess he  lost some money that way.  Most of the problem I run into is either the place doesn't accept coupons or usually the coupon isn't in their system.

I use coupons a lot. Just last month a friend emailed me a coupon for $9 off of Tide detergent and $3.98 off of Charmin bath tissue. Hopefully that will happen again soon.
oh my gosh where did your friend find a coupon for that much off of tide?  I never find any for that much..lol

I only use coupons for what I already buy, unless there's something that looks interesting that I want to try.  I try to not eat too much junk food, which is what a lot of coupons are for, but I use what I can.

I only use coupons on thing I usually buy, I nice to have a coupon for something I want to try.

I had 2 for $1 off them Rev  Wraps.  They are at Walmart with the Lunchables.  I didnt like them but had wanted to try them and with the coupon they were not that expensive.

I agree with CountryGirl that if the coupon isn't for something I'd normally buy, then it isn't really a deal. Since most of my groceries are for fresh products, I don't usually have coupons for them. But the store I shop at also has a gas station at some locations and have a "Fuel Saver" card that knocks off a few cents per gallon when buying certain products, including those fresh foods, so I end up saving money that way instead.

For personal products, however, I try to use coupons as much as possible. I like going to Walgreens for those since they have their own loyalty card that gives you sale prices on top of coupons, and sometimes even their own coupons. I once got some Advil for over 50% off by combining everything together.

If I had more time, I'd try to do more of that "extreme coupon" type of stuff by clipping coupons and researching stores for matching specials.

I dont believe the extreme couponing like they showed on tv where they got buggies and buggies of stuff for free.  Most items you cant get a coupon for.  Like the fresh veggies you mentioned.  Milk, eggs, bread.  I never see coupons for that.  And most of the coupons I see are for closer to 15 cents to 35 cents.  Maybe as much as 50.  And very few stores double coupons.  I know Kroger does but only up to 50 cents.  I guess I would have to actually be with the person and see it first hand for myself.  I do good with coupons and have had as much as $78 in coupons once.  But most times it is closer to $10 on a good trip.

And we dont have anywhere much but Walmart so I go there and use coupons if I can find them.  You can find quite a few online.  And WM does take online printed coupons.  :)

Do you use coupons for things you don't normally buy just to save money?

When my kids were little and I was strapped for money (which was almost always) I would use coupons a lot.  Would help so much, but they are grown ... and so many of the items I would purchase for them I can't have now.  Anyway, it's a good topic I think ...

Coupons ... just what you normally use or not?

We have some health issues in this house and my aunt and I don't purchase too many things that the coupons covers, BUT occasionally I do find some we can use.
I always use coupons and save a lot of money doing so
:rainbow: thanks!

For the most part, only for things I would normally buy.  Sometimes I will try a new product if a coupon makes it cheap/free or I will get something I don't need if it's free or a money maker, then I will give it away.  I actually spend a few months using coupons to get super cheap/free food items and then gave the stuff away to people who needed it.  But now I live in a different state that is harder to coupon in.
