acute tonsilitus
« on: February 15, 2014, 04:07:39 pm »
I have been sick for a week, high fever, sore throat...it felt like it was on fire. I finally get to the dr. ,and he tells me acute tonsilitus. I go back in 4 days to be evaluated again after 4 days of antibiotics to see if they have to come out! I don't even know what caused them to become inflamed and infected.....

When I was younger, I was subject to strep throat and tonsillitis.  In those days, though, parents didn't know how serious they could be.  They thought it was just sore throat, and I didn't get antibiotics.  I ended up with rheumatic fever, which left me sick for almost a year.  When I was better, I had a tonsillectomy and have not had a sore throat since.  Good luck and God bless.
