radio loyalty malware?
« on: February 11, 2014, 10:27:45 am »
Anyone had warnings about malware with radio loyalty? I use Google Chrome and over the last few days it warns me that malware is present on radio loyalty's site.

I use Internet Explorer and I haven't got that warning yet. What exactly is malware? Sorry to sound so dumb. :monkey:

I have been using radioloyalty for years now and not had problems until the last few days with this malware warning. Malware is basically akin to a virus. It is software meant to damage the computer or invade privacy... bad stuff.

I use Google Chrome and haven't seen any of the malware warnings yet, but it has been a few days since I have done the Radioloyalty. I will watch out for it in the future, thanks for the warning.

Yup, I've seen that "warning." I've been using Firefox for Radio Loyalty.

I actually posted about it in another thread, so going to just copy/paste it here...

On a few of the occasions in which I used Radio Loyalty, I experienced a strange problem where the radio page would redirect itself. Most of the time, it just redirected to some weird page. I didn't pay much attention to them, figuring it just had something to do with one of the many advertisements featured on Radio Loyalty. Perhaps one of them forced a redirect.

However, the most recent interruption caught my attention, because it claimed that my computer had malware. Initially I was alarmed, especially since it appeared legitimate (from Microsoft Security Essentials), but then I read the message more carefully:
Quote
Microsoft Security Essentials detected potential threats that migth compromise your privacy or damage your computer.
You need to clean your computer immediately to prevent the system crash.

I can't imagine Microsoft would have that many grammatical errors, if any, in their final product. :P

Yeah, I've gotten some messages like that and a lot of pop ups from RL even though I have pop up blocker on.  :confused1: I hope this stops soon.

I am also getting these warning messages and I have an ad blocker on. Haven't had any problems with RadioLoyalty, until a few days ago. I think, I'm going to have to skip out on RadioLoyalty for a bit.  :(

I haven't tried it in Chrome but I primarily use Firefox and it won't play. I can get it to play in Explorer but the Capcha's don't always come up.

Yes, just started receiving this malware notice yesterday and happened again 2x today so I closed Radio Loyalty. I use Chrome as well. There is a thread about malware in the daily email too tho I haven't had a problem with that. Don't know what to do about it and bummed about missing out on the credit. I hope someone from FC will look into it so we can get back to earning.

Thanks for replying. Validating to hear it from someone else. Haven't had problems with the daily email, but will keep eyes open on that as well. Yes it is upsetting bc radio loyalty is sometimes the only way I can get the 5cents to be able to do the paid to click.

Again, thanks for sharing.
