On Surveys with Repeated Questions, What if You Change Your Mind?

I understand that surveys sometimes repeat questions to make sure they're dealing with real people, but sometimes reflection between questions reveals that your answer has changed.

I think it's easier for the survey-companies if you stick to the first answer ... another way it's better to be "nice" than to be "right"

What kind of questions would you change your mind about? Most of the repeated questions are basic classification questions that would only have one real answer

How do you change your mind for basic classification questions?  You're either male or female.  Your age would fall within a certain range or a specific number, unless you've just had a birthday.  Even your race would be the same.  The survey companies are looking for HONESTY and couldn't care less if you're "nice" or "right."  Most of them even state, "there are no right or wrong answers."

I've had several surveys ask the same question about whether I like a particular product (or not) -- usually after I viewed a video about the product.  I try to respond the same -- since ad's generally do not change my mind -- but I can't always remember what I clicked originally.  Then I simply respond the way I feel now.

The ones I find are difficult are those that ask about how I think product X would be if a real person and I have to attribute adjectives to it -- and then they ask me the same thing or something similar -- later on in the survey.  I don't worry about the differences -- just go with what I think at the moment.

Basic classification questions best be the same within the same survey.  Don't think you'd get flogged, but you might get disqualified.

I'm obviously NOT TALKING ABOUT "physical classification"-questions, but the ones these surveys are usually ABOUT (AFTER you've "classified").

Often they'll ask something like 'how do you feel about taking human lives?' and then questions about the quality of life in prison and then 'how do you feel about the death penalty?' (& I think human life is sacred, but I don't count prisoners as fully-human)
