What in God's Name (Literally!) Was "the Evil of the Amorites"?

When God is pronouncing His covenant with Abram, He talks about the destiny of the Hebrews. He says that they'll be slaves-of-Egypt for 400 years, but will "come hither again" after four generations because "the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full."

What does that mean, in Hebrew history AND in life today? Anything ???
