Paid to Call
« on: January 03, 2014, 11:09:35 am »
I tried this a few minutes ago and I tried to call the number twice and was cut off and received a message on my cell phone that said "unable to connect".  I also have another question.  I called one about auto insurance which I may be interested in switching mine but they want to set up a profile on me including my DL before they talk to me.  Thing is I don't even know who they are.  I was thinking about calling the one for windows as I desperately need windows in my home.  But if I don't know who they are I don't want to start by answering a million questions from them about who I am and where I live and what my phone number is and all that.  Is there a way to know who you are talking to?  Who the company is?  There doesn't seem to be much information given before you call.   :peace:

Sometimes there are offers in the paid to calls that expire, do not work, or have the wrong number. You want to make sure you always report these so that they can take them down. I know the paid to call does not give you any information on there about the company but when you do call. They do tell answer by telling you who they are and even before that the operator person or designated person will tell you welcome to so and so company.. Usually if it doesn't say that then they will answer with the company they are with and from. I never had a call that did not say the company they are from. It is frustrating sometimes when they ask alot of questions and you don't even know who they are.. Hopefully when you call they will let you know right away.

I may try it again.  The only one I done was an insurance company and they sort of made me mad to start with and I didn't stay on the line long enough to get credit.  She wanted my full name, address, and DL so she can set up a profile.  And I said I didn't want to set up a profile because I didn't know if I was getting insurance.  I just needed some information.  She said well we have to have your DL so we can see the address of the garage your car will be parked in.  I am like "I don't have a garage" Grrr.

I wonder if they get paid by the sales they make. Like on commission.  If they know about offers like this and think people are just calling to get paid for an offer then maybe that's why they are somewhat hateful.  The one the number didn't work on was Satellite tv.
