Let's make monthly goal agendas
« on: January 02, 2014, 05:52:46 am »
Happy 2014 everyone!!! What are your goals for this year?

Now, put those goals on a time table and tell me what are your goals for the month?  Break those goals into small weekly tasks to achieve the monthly goal. I'll ask again in February to keep those who are interested on track.

My Jan goals are:

To lose 8 lbs (small steps: restart food diary, eat less, & work out one hour 4x per week)
To eat out less (small step: set aside a weekly takeout allowance)
To spend more time with my kids
To explore new affiliate marketing programs
To get more sleep
To get root canal and crown (small steps: call dentist, get quotes, comparative pricing)
To get into the habit of praying more

How bout you?!!!  :highfive:

That is a lot to focus on for one month.  Im taking on one task of losing 20 pounds and I have 15 more to go.

It can be done.  I've already gotten started.  If you start with a defeated mind you've already failed.

I don't focus on everything at one time, I work out for one hour per day and that contributes to the weight loss, everything else is broken into a daily or weekly small task to achieve the big picture, and a month is enough time to do that.

Oh- congrats on losing the 5 lbs!!!!!!!!

For the last 15 if you break it down into focusing on losing 2 lbs per week that's 8 lbs per month and you'll achieve your goal before spring break.  At least that's what it looks like on paper lol I know all about set backs, which is fine as long as you continue the journey.

I started my food journal on the 1st and have been working out daily.  The trick is to start off doing way below your capabilities then do a little more each week. I'm going out of town today and tomorrow so I'll only have Subway subs or small portioned meals since I won't be working out.

I haven't eaten out yet this year, I've been spending time with the kids, I've been going to bed earlier than usual, and I say a prayer every time I look at my goal agenda. These particular goals take very little effort other than time management.

I have yet to look into other programs but I still have time to do that and I've started getting quotes on the oral work I want to get done this year, I plan to have my appointment set by Jan 14.  Also by that time I plan to have started looking into affiliate marketing programs, I have a list of about 9 programs and if I look into 3 a week I can get this done.  Usually when I get on a roll I complete more than I intend to.

Everything is possible!

I don't have monthly goals but I do have yearly goals and they are:
1.  Pay down my last remaining CC.
2.  Nag hubby to do what he always promises to do but never gets around to it for some reason or another. After 42 years, you would think I would know how to nag, but I've been too nice. My new dishwasher has been sitting in middle of the kitchen floor since the week before Christmas. I wanted to have it professionally installed but he talked me out of it and every day he says he's going to install it "today" but it must always be 'yesterday' 'cause it doesn't get done.  ;)
3.  Make more money by trying to find a job again. If I don't find one within 2 months, I'll give up for good. No use banging my head against a brick wall.
4.  Get more independent by getting physical therapy exercises to strengthen and stretch my "new" knee muscle so I can bend my knee, be able to drive again, and hopefully even walk without a cane, since it's been 2 years.
5.  Sell all my medical equipment and reference books/CDs if I can't find another job since they would be useless.
6.  Lose 10 pounds. That's how much I've gained over and above what I weighed before my operations.

Most of mine are sorta continued goals.  Losing weight is my biggest one at the moment, which I'm sorta failing already cause I wanted to start yesterday but instead went grocery shopping and helped a friend move stuff to her apartment.  But, I'll get started today instead so hopefully I'm not too behind.

My other goals are:
get a job (preferrably dream job, but I have an interview with a company in another field on Monday)
get healthier/drink more water
cook more
be around friends more
make more money (either in a job or online)
start walking/playing with my dog more

I'm so excited about your post! For some reason communicating with other goal oriented people really gets me going.  Have you set a time frame and weekly task planner yet?  Your goals for this year look like my goals for next year, congrats on elevating to the point you are now!! And good luck on everything, keep me posted with your progress.

I know!! The cheapest quote I've gotten thus far is $1,500 but I'm blessed to have it and I still have a few to contact to see if they accept my kind of insurance.  Your goals are big and can make a huge impact on bettering your life, have you gotten started yet? Thanks so much for responding!

Thanks for responding!  I just put a time frame on my yearly goals and set tasks to make sure I'm not putting the same goals on my board for next year..... which I've had to do a time or two  :-\  I like how your goals stretch across all areas of your life, have you gotten started on achieving them yet?
