The Worst Medicine Starts with the Same Ingredient as the Best: Conversation

My friend shared a banner that held the following 'wisdom': "Sometimes a conversation with yourself is the best medicine." I'm not sure if that was a joke or if Never Give Up on Someone Who Means So Much to You was being serious, but the latter name's subliminal message is loud-&-clear  so I need to make sure she knows what was probably meant by 'sometimes' 

'Sometimes' probably means 'when your parents/elders don't "understand" & the Bible says nothing about your situation.'

But no. Because 'conversation with yourself' is not the entire prescription. 'Conversation with yourself' is more like "part of the diagnosis" ... it's like "finding the vein"; but there's ALL KINDSA STUFF you can shoot yourself up with that'll make you "feel" just fine but -that'll leave you SICKER THAN WHEN YOU STARTED!

I know this, because I 'talk to myself' ALL THE TIME! And--if I don't check myself against reality (which I THOUGHT my best friend had a handle on, but now  I'm not sure)--the conclusions of my self-conversations sound more like 'a greedy, grab-happy grubber's whiny, wantful wishings' 

So yes, it's good to have 'conversations with yourself'; but only SOMETIMES, mixed-in with abundant helpings of 'conversations with ME!'
