Again with the Church-of-Christers (or is it Churchers-of-Christ ... if they're one of `em, I'm the other!  :angel11: )

I'm a little mixed-up with the whole 'salvation'-thing: if we DON'T know Christ, we're saved (His very words to The Father as He gave His sacrifice, "Father, forgive them for THEY KNOW NOT!"); if we DO know Christ, we are to be His disciples.

And when a rabbi made someone his disciple, he was telling that someone, "You shall replace me, shall become me."

Why doesn't Church-of-Christ take THAT stance?

Why worry about someone elses' doctrine?

"Study to show thyself approved, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.."

In other words, get your own self in line and quit pointing out fault in others. (Think Pharisee)

You did not finish the scripture, giving it a different meaning.    It reads, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."  I'm still not sure what you are trying to prove in any of your threads.

Have to agree with everyone.  Don't understand any of your posts, and don't know why they all must be about religion.

I think the same thing about these posts. If you are unhappy with the church you attend or the denomination and what it teaches, then find a new church to attend or a new denomination that you feel more comfortable with. As long as you keep hand in hand with the Lord, he doesn't care which branch you use to worship.

I think 'what I'm trying to prove' is that the decision rests entirely with ourselves ... or something ...

... If you are unhappy with the church you attend or the denomination and what it teaches, then find a new church to attend or a new denomination that you feel more comfortable with. As long as you keep hand in hand with the Lord, he doesn't care which branch you use to worship.

That would be good advice, if I believed that God were some far-away CEO who sends commands to us (His children) in sets of instructions signed-in-triplicate and delivered in a locked briefcase carried 'by special courier' (locked in a briefcase to which he is handcuffed but to which only WE have the key).

But that is not the case. The 'commands' he gives us are "more what you call 'guidelines' than actual 'rules'"---instructions in the way His children should react to the actions of 'the world' (His creation?)

'Going to a different church' will not heal the cancer that the church-goers FEED by going along with whatever FALSE doctrine their leaders spit out. I guess I'm trying to serve as 'anti-angiogenesis'---denying The Blood to those cancerous tumors.

God is the Healer.  He is responsible for healing the cancer in His church.

Do you doubt His power?

We have two commands, to love God, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Do those, and let God take care of His business.

I have said this more than once and ill say it again...maybe at least 1 person is listening. The Pharisees thought they worshiped God in the right way. What did Jesus tell them? You come from your father the devil.

ALL religeons don't lead to the TRUE God.Jesus said my TRUE followers will worship my father with spirit and truth and have love among themselves.Hardly the case in World wars.Catholics kiiling protestants etc.

Satan turns himself into an angel of light says Bible. He controls Christendom and the political world.Remember the bible says the whole world lies in the power of the wicked one.

Its wise to examine your religion. Many claim to teach bible but don't!!

I don't want a healthy cancer! You know whose healthy cancer is infamous? Vampires! EVERY PERSON is a 'cancer' on the church; the only difference being that--like the vampires' feed THEIR cancer in exchange for immortality--churches 'feed' their members in exchange for faithful attendance.

Wrong. Those are the two PRINCIPAL commands (sorta like 'The Robot Laws'---we cannot follow any of His OTHER commands that break those two). The WAY to follow that first one is actually--Jesus Himself tells us--to follow His other commands!

Close. Humans have dominion over Satan, only HUMANS allow Satan's will because it makes them feel good ... religion tickles the ears

Vampires don't exist, and there is no such thing as a 'healthy' cancer.
The church is not a building made by human hands. The church is living stones, earthen vessels that hold the truth within. Humans, connected by the Holy Spirit.

If you can't see God working today, you're not looking in the right places.

I don't get this fixation with the Church of Christ, either. ???

I'm non-denominational,myself.But surely there are better targets to take on that stray from essential Christian doctrine, like Mormonism,Islam & the JW's? ???

A cancer is not ever healthy 'to anyone but itself,' and it 'feeds on your blood.' The healthier the cancer is, the DEADER you are!

And I'm 'looking' at YOU, so ... I guess you're right ...

And does the linked-discussion in the opening post not EXPLAIN 'this fixation'?

As an earlier poster said, you gave an incomplete verse. Not the best way to argue a point-by taking quotes out of context.

I admit to not being familiar with "Church of Christers",but my question was, isn't it more fruitful service to go after cults and beliefs that dismiss essential Christian doctrine, instead? It seems like you're more interested in putting out a brush fire with a pail,in the midst of a forest fire.
