I think I will stay away from Target stores for awhile. But I guess this could happen anywhere at any store.

Barely shop there but did right before this happened.  Contacted my credit card company and they said they are monitoring it.

It was shock seeing the news and had to call Target to check what was going on.
I do still go there and shop as I like Target, but will pay close attention to my statement for now.

Didn't get burned by what happened at Target but this is very much in tune with this thread:  I have American Express and pay an annual fee.  People ask why do that?  Here's an example.  A couple of weeks ago I got a call (and simultaneous email) from Amex.  They asked if I had tried to make a $5000.00 purchase in the UK?  Of course I had not and fortunately they had refused the charge AND alerted me.  They had my new card to me the next morning by overnight Fed Ex at THEIR expense.
In addition when I have disputed a charge in the past THEY do all the legwork and investigate and immediately reverse the charge.  I don't work for them and am not affiliated in any way :).  I just feel it is a valuable service and saves an awful lot of worry and headaches.

I wasn't affected by this incident, but it makes me so afraid to use my bank card. I guess that I have to start carrying cash. It sucks because when you have cash you spend it on things you don't need. Be careful guys.

Oh! I heard about that! That's terrible! :-\
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)
