What's with all the commercials these days?

When watching television I don't really notice much. I think I'm more impatient with watching things online and seeing commercials there as I expect things still to be more instant.

I used to work at a tv station and commercials were how we got paid. So at the time, I loved commercials...the more the merrier. But now that I'm not at tv station, I really watch too much tv or I'd use the commercials to go to another room to do something. Take advantage of the commercial time.

It does seem like an hour long show is really 30 min. and the other 30min. are commercials.

Though I can't stand commercials it's the content that I hate the most. Every commercial has either singing, dancing, or both. It's ridiculous.

I can't stand commercials. They ruin TV. Thats why I prefer watching movies. No interruptions.

Well that is the time you buy DVD's and watch what you want without commercials. Don't complain about the things of today make a remedy. You will feel much better. Probably the reason there are more commercials is because they have to pay for the time on the air so they need ad support just to play whatever they are showing. I don't think they like it either but that is probably the story.

Do you realize the current hour TV show only runs about 42 minutes without commercials?20 years ago,an hour program ran around 50 minutes!Before you know it,an hour program will only contain a half hour of content!

My daughter watches Disney Junior and Nick and commercials are start at 10 til the hour and last til the next show.
Of course there was already another commercial in between too.  Way too many commercials....

Some channels show more commercials than other channels. We will never have a commercial free world.

It  is  all about the money  and not the content. Tv is a waste of time to me.

There are so many commercials and they last so long that sometimes I forget what it is I'm watching on television.

Chasing the almighty dollar. If the commercial is played enough the little kiddies will want it. And some grown ups.

This is nothing new. This has been going on for the last 30 plus years. All half hour shows are really 23 minutes and all
one hour shows are really 43 minutes sometimes 44. I know because I have been recording TV shows forever and cutting out the commercials. Sometimes the station cuts out some of the TV program you are watching so they can have more commercials. These numbers are what a standard show"s time is and always has been.

seems like 5 mins of a program and 5 mins of commercials gets annoying sometimes.
