Payza accounts frozen
« on: December 05, 2013, 01:07:07 pm »
Anyone else have any money locked up in Payza right now?

I'm still getting caught up after the holidays, and missed this news when it first started last week.

The latest on Payza's blog says:

Quote
Due to circumstances beyond our control, Payza’s account platform is no longer accessible to members in the United States. Unfortunately, the third party relationship that enabled U.S. members to access their stored value account services was terminated. This means that U.S. members are not able to Add Funds, Send Funds or Receive Funds using Payza. You can still log in to your Payza account and initiate a Withdrawal Transaction, however, all withdrawal requests will remain pending until further notice.

We are working diligently to resolve this matter, more updates will follow.

I only had $18 in there. Thankfully I never keep a lot of money in Payza or PayPal.

So, anyone else here effected?

Wow, so sorry to hear this! I have never used that account before and only use PayPal. The fees are a little bit higher than some but PayPal is a very trusted account and have been with them for almost 8 yrs. I have the business debit card linked to my checking account, so even when I have ZERO balance in PayPal it automatically comes out from my checking account in like 2-3 days then I get 1.5 cash back on every purchase when I use my card. This month I got back $35...it's awesome and I highly recommend you open a PayPal account.  :)

Oh I definitely hear you. $43 is definitely something to be bummed about.  As far as updates I was googling and searching Twitter this afternoon and there seems to be a ton of rumor and speculation running wild. I found this really excellent write-up on the situation that has a good timeline too:

http://scrolldog.com/payza-under-fire-by-homeland-security-us-based-funds-seized/

That was the easiest to understand write-up on what's going on, so beside's Payza's blog updates, that's a page I'm going to be keeping an eye on.

I'll file a complaint with my State Regulator's office tomorrow like Payza is requesting their members do.

Thanks Kimber. I've got both. I never keep any money in either PayPal or formerly Payza... with Payza really what I used to do is get payments from some of the smaller PTC sites, and then use that Payza money to buy advertising, so that's why I only had $18 in the account when it was froze.

As far as PayPal, every few weeks I transfer half of my earnings into a savings account, and then I use the other half to buy pet supplies and dry goods grocery items at WalMart, so I never have a big balance there either.

I figure better safe than sorry :)

PayPal is the only payment processor I trust.  Sorry to hear about your dilemma.
Have a great day!

I was rarely using AlertPay to begin with before this became Payza. I trust PayPal more as this is accepted through more services/venders. I do hear PayPal scares periodically, but I do trust them still to continue using them as one of my primarily online processing channels.

I think it will eventually get resolved, but I don't think it will be any time soon.

Yes, just like it.

Let me give an update here as i have done some legwork. They told me if you have a bank acct you can receive a bank transfer.Otherwise you cannot withdraw the cash or pay anything. No 3rd parties either.I am still screwed cos i dont use banks.I dont want to get into that but banks give me a bad taste.

So i guess i sit and wait.If anyone has any answers put em up here.I want my $43!!

Thanks for the update. Personally, I never connected my Payza account to a bank account because I didn't feel comfortable doing that. I already have my PayPal account connected to my savings account, and I didn't want to add any more online payment processors to there.

That's why I don't use that method, I just get the checks so I can avoid problems like that.
