Have you ever met someone who Asks for your Honest Opinion.. Only to find out they don't like your opinion or didn't want it afterall?


Sometimes people ask for opinions and they don't really want it.. They will disagree about your opinion and give you hell about it.. or get mad about it..What i don't get is.. Why do People ask for an opinion if they don't want it in the first place.. Or even get mad about it.. What is the theory behind that? Anyone know?

I find that most people that ask for your honest opinion don't really want and/or can't handle it

People often want validation instead of honest opinion.  What they are really saying is "I am feeling a little insecure & need some strokes from you."--but who would actually admit it (even to themselves)?

If a person asks your honest opinion and then gets confrontational, really doesn't want your "Honest Opinion". I believe they just want to goat you into a argument about something. I try to stay away from that especially if it is conversations about "Religion" or "Politics", those two subjects seem to get too confrontational and I feel, there is no need for it! That's why I personally stay away from those subjects.

I think most people who ask your opinion just really want an opening to give you theirs.  Anyway, I was raised to think this was a topic only voiced between people who were very familiar with one another....not perfect strangers!

My daughter does this a lot. I am in a no win situation.

dear dil asks me for my opinion all the time and after several years of this I now know that she will do the opposite so now I tell her the part that I don't like an she does what I really want...just playing by her rules
