so here i am 1 year later both my girls about to go to jail again looks like im going to be providing child care for all three grandkids  full time ,lord pray for me keeping them friday to monday morning is hard enough,one is 3 granddaughter grandsons 8,10

I'm so sorry to hear that.  How long will they be gone?  I hope they realize how lucky they are to have you.  If it wasn't for you where would the kids go?  I love my grandkids with all my heart, but I also love when their parents come and take them home.  God luck, I'll be praying for you.

thanks nancy5 im going to try ,oldest facing 10 years the youngest facing 2 years,mom helps alot but she cant do it permanently arthritus in her spine some days she cant walk

I wish you the best of luck, you have a long road ahead, but you seem like a good person and you will get through it.  Your grandchildren are so lucky to have such a great grandmother like you.  With your girls being away you will be the one who molds them into a good person like their grandmother!

I hope it turns out ok ,and thank you i have to admitt in these days im actually terrified of raising children dont seem to remember it being so much cruelty and violence when i was raising my kids

I think it is way to expensive especially for a single mom my daughter is 21 and she has a good paying job she be there for a year in Dec. she had her daughter in day care which she is 3 yrs old and it $178.00 a week so than she found a girl who runs a daycare out her trailor but we knew her pesonally but she only wanted $135.00 a week but then we had to move so to afford our new place I was the candidate for watching I am her grandmother but I just love her dearly this is my second week when there is an opening for head start which is free she will be start going there

so now i do have to take care of my grandsons starting tomorrow unless dad takes them for thanksgiving and dont bring them back,i hope he doesnt take them

update,dad has boys says he going to bring them back sunday i pray he does ,daughter in jail bond 25,000 100% this time no one can swing it but at least she is getting detoxed with medical help

Bless your heart Hensleyll!  That's quite a burden, no matter how much you love your grandkids.  When our youngest daughter had her baby she asked me to keep her until the baby was old enough for daycare but she said she would really like for me to keep her until she was old enough to talk so if she got mistreated in daycare she could tell us.  Well, I ended up keeping her till she was just over 2 yrs old and discovered that even though I love her with all my heart I was dreading her coming every morning.  She went into daycare this past summer and she loves it; its a church affiliated daycare with cameras so we can watch her anytime we want to.  I miss her but she is (and me too) better off in daycare where she can be around other kids and use that sharp little mind of hers.  They just live about 3 blocks from us so I still see her at least 2-3 times a week and me, her mom, and her go shopping about every other saturday.  lol

Oh dear - I have 3 kids - and they are enough work at my age.  I can't imagine adding there children onto my plate once they are grown to raise.  Someone pointed out how difficult it is to raise kids these days and boy they aren't kidding.  I hope you have a strong support group around you.  Grandkids are meant to me pampered - not parented by there grandparents.

i would love to believe they think i did a bangup job but they blast me every chance they get but it all good i look out for the kids despite the rudeness of my children,things are going better parents stepping up ,more at least until there court dates in march
