It is cold as all getout outside

I awakened this morning to find that our water had frozen.  It is 23 degrees here, and I live in a house that is 69 years old.  I didn't turn on the faucets and let it drip because I heard the weather and it gave no indication of freezing.  I am sitting in the chair near the windows and it is cold enough to make a person want to stay in the bed under the covers.  How is the weather in your area?
