I would much rather see us use solar power or hydrogen power.
We can only hope.......

I havent really read up on hydrogen power but im really into solar panel and looking to have it installed in my  house panels and whet not.

Nuclear power is a safe, cheap and highly efficient means to provide practically unlimited electric energy. Of course I am speaking of man made power plants and not the Sun, which is itself a gigantic nuclear reaction. Unfortunate for all is the fear mongering that has all but destroyed this wonderful source of power. Many countries depend on nuclear power generation for a vast majority of their electricity, and in most cases those nuclear generation plants were constructed by US firms! I strongly support efforts to expand the use of nuclear power in the US. It can be done safely and if properly regulated done very cheaply compared to VIABLE alternatives.

I love solar power generation and wind powered electric generation. Sadly the efforts made to date to force these methods of energy generation have failed on a pretty large scale compared to what they were touted to be. The rush to put these into place on a massive scale has exacerbated the problems inherent in both technologies. Solar has been demonstrated to work just fine but at a very high cost. I think that the readily available to FREE government funds to get this promoted has done far more damage than good for the solar energy industry. Wind generation is not much different, the 'standard' of wind turbine construction has proved out to be extremely flawed, some studies show that on average only 60-65% of the big wind turbines are in working condition at any given time. Hopefully private sector will do its normal efficient job and develop more cost efficient means for both wind and solar power, it should not be difficult once the corruption and political motivations are removed. This will take time to happen, but should prove out to be far more sustainable and supported than what we have seen to date.

Today it is not at all unreasonable for one to have a totally functional off-grid home in some areas. Maybe that is not a bad way to think about things considering the aging grid infrastructure!

Yes, more solar and wind power does the earth good.

With all the regulations that go along with it to make nuclear power safe.  I am not so sure that it is cheaper when you add in all the costs.  But I think it can be safely used along with all the other sources of energy which I just can't see them keeping up with demand as easily as nuclear power can.

nuclear power is a good a long with the other way I don't like wind they look very bad and don't make that much power because the wind dose not blow hard enufe or it blows to hard for it to work safely . water it good and so is coal
