As you are driving it's wise to play close attention to your own driving as well as to the other drivers on the road.  You never know when the other driver will suddenly decide to make a lane change and you are in his/her blind spot and they don't see you.  My mom always warned me to be prepared for anything when driving.  This is good advice I cherish even today.  :)

i agree with the above --always stay alert--with the way people are talking and texting while driving --its always a blessing when you get to and from your destination --i was in a bad wreck a couple of years ago i was coming up on a red light when a woman just darted out of a drive on the right and t-boned me so hard she threw me up in the air --broke the main axle on my truck she hit me so hard! now i watch extra hard for people coming out of drive ways --i never want to go through something like that again!!

Expect that some drivers will do something careless, unsafe, or just plain stupid.  Resist the urge to give in to road rage (even a little bit).  Drivers pull out in front of me all the time and make me have to brake, at least daily when I commute to work.  I don't like it but have become used to it.  Being aware is at least half the battle.

You  got  to  aware  of  everything around you.  Try to avoid  all distractions  mainly cell phones  and load  radios.

It is hard to know what the other driver is doing. so don't follow too close, be prepared for someone to dart in front of you so know your surroundings. and especially don't use your cell phone when driving it is a distraction.  And if someone says to you it is okay to turn be sure that no one is coming along side that person. and the most important don't let your passengers distract you especially small children and pull your car over. Plus if you feel uneasy just pull over until you are calm enough to drive again. One other point I would like to mention is if you are passing a semi remember if you pass on the right he can't see you so pass on the left only. and when you pull on to the highway remember he probably has 80,000 lbs. weight on his vehicle so make sure you see the whole truck in your mirrors before going back into the right lane. I used to drive a semi and I had many of sudden stops to avoid hitting someone. Be careful. I hope I helped you.
