A big note of gratitude from me, too.  I appreciate everyone who is willing to serve our country and I recognized that I am incredibly blessed to be  a U.S. citizen.

Have a great day!

I agree that a great big THANK YOU should go out to all of our brave men and women who have served and who are serving in the United States Armed Forces!   My husband is one of those men and really appreciates the "Thank you's" that he has gotten today!

I appreciate a few close friends as well as every other veteran.  Kind of funny, I worked yesterday...with a guy who served for over 20 years.  He didn't take the day off...

I would like to thank all the veterans who have served and especially those who died for our country. The closest veteran to me who served is my husband. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnamese War for two years, most of that in the Military Police in Okinawa. The closest person to me who died in action is his grandfather who was killed in WWI in France. His father's step-brother served in Germany in WWII.  My father was in the Army and fought in the Philippines in WWII. My father-in-law fought in WWII in Africa and Italy and several other places in Europe. My nephew is an Army veteran. As a family researcher, I have found several ancestors so far who were in the Military. Some of them were in the Civil War and some were in the Revolutionary War. At least two that I recall were in the War of 1812.

I'm sure I'm missing some.  However, Maya Angelou says we are all veterans.  We all share the anguish of losing family and friends and acquaintances in war and missing them so much when they have been deployed.  I think this is true.
