Sometimes I bake, sometimes I buy.  Sometimes it's cheaper to buy.  Once you buy all the ingredients sometimes it's cheaper to buy something already made.

I make all my cakes and cookies from scratch, but I never got the hang of making pies.

After my husband passed away, in 2011, I have had to relearn cooking for just 1 person. I've wasted a lot of food that I couldn't finish and don't have freezer room for freezing leftovers. It's taken me a couple years to readjust my food habits. Now I just can't be bothered with the mess of cooking and dish washing etc, so I am really just buying what I know I can eat and don't have to cook.

baking is much better from scratch then store bought because it brings you a sense of pride and you can smell the freshly baked good coming out of your oven which you cant do at a store

Combination of both but usually bake since it's cheaper and it usually tastes better a majority of the time, I love making stuff like Cookies by scratch.

Baking from scratch is the only way to go.  First of all they taste way better, secondly you know exactly what you are putting into the "cake" or "cookie" so you are eating the best without all the "preservatives, colorings and other nasty ingredients they put in "store bought" goods!!!!!!!!!

Storebought for the most part because although homemade is definitely the best tasting  :silly: I live by myself and if I baked I would eat too much of it.  Sometimes I buy a smaller item from our grocery store bakery or just suffice my sweet tooth with a candy bar.

I definitely do baking over store bought.  And I've included items like breads as well.  Although I've never been big on sweets generally, I find I stave off temptation easier by baking - as if I need a sweet, I have to first make it or find something else.  Often it's find something else which tends to have less sugar in it.  :)

It's usually store bought but I have made my own coffee cake from scratch and an apple pie from scratch and they turn out really good.

I cook and bake from scratch as much as possible, including bread.  My favorite small appliances are my bread machine and my crockpot.   ;D
