You can get a lot of good stuff at places like Dollar Tree where everything is just $1.  Awesome place it is!

I was flipping threw the channels the other day, and came across that show Extreme Cheapskates. I know the exact episode your talking about.
I'm all for getting a great deal, however if it were my daughter She is worth way more than a pee stained wedding dress purchased at a *bleep* shop!!!
I also would not ask family and friends to bring food to a wedding I was inviting them to. I also seen an episode were a married couple shared the same
tooth brush and dental floss, Now that is just plain disgusting.

No, I tend to stay away from all of those reality type shows. I am amazed that some of these shows even get on television, I guess they have a following and are meeting a need for some; just not for me.

Another one of those shows I call "unreal" reality shows.  I like to watch something a little more challenging to my brain cells.  Most of them are just contrived "stuff" to make money for the TV show.

I only watched this show once, quite some time ago now. I was astonished at the measures that some people go to to save some cash. This couple that I remember used their teabags and then hung them up to dry for next time (ewwww). The second thing I remember was, it was their wedding anniversary and the wife said to her husband, you don't have to buy me anything, just take me out for a meal and promise me, they'll be no funny stuff (cheapskating I assume). He promised. The meal went well but then at the end of the meal, the husband went around the other tables in the restaurant collecting up the food the other people had not eaten to take home for later. I mean, I was horrified! I could not believe anybody would do that.  :-[ ??? :-X :sad1:

I have never heard of this TV show.  Reading thru the replies here in the Forum, I know I won't be looking for the show!

As for wedding dresses, you CAN get a gorgeous wedding dress for way, way, way under $1,000 without buying a dress that smells like urine.

Case in Point:  For our daughter's first wedding, We bought a stunning ivory colored "Prom" dress.  The front was beaded and intricate.  She liked the back of a second dress, so we bought the dress with the beautiful front and I altered the back of it so it looked like the back of the second dress.  Then I added a tulle train and tulle roses.  Gorgeous. And NO ONE knew it was a JC Penney "prom dress".

She remarried several years later.  We went to a bridal boutique.  She tried on many lovely gowns.  All over the $1000.  We saw a "discount" rack that had "last Year's" dresses on it.  We bought a lovely white strapless gown for under $100.   I mean, does anyone know (or care) that your wedding dress was first out on the rack last year?

Just my two cents on the ridiculous prices on wedding dresses.

The thousand dollars was for the entire wedding the venue, flowers which were fake I believe.the food people brought there own.the dress was 50.00.Don't know why she didn't tell them to go to a justice of the peace to get married.
