Food you use to hate but now love and..
« on: November 01, 2013, 06:10:29 pm »
Well taste buds change and while I was eating breakfast this morning I thought about it because I was eating Oatmeal, when I was younger I hated it but now I actually find it tasty for an occasional breakfast. Although when I was a kid I loved those sugary cardboard cereals and now I hate them! they taste like paper to me.

I could name a bunch of other foods I hate and like now but what about you? how have your taste buds changed over the years?

When I was growing up, I never would have imagined myself eating spinach.  My grandmother stayed me with for a couple of years and she would fix spinach.  I tried it and loved it.  Now I eat it all the time.

I didn't like tomatoes growing up. When my mom would make a salad, there would usually be only greens on my plate. My sister used to tell me that I was eating lettuce, not salad. Now, I can eat them more, depending on how they're prepared. I think sun-dried tomatoes are really delicious. My sister's mom-in-law made a tomato salad with cheese on top and when I tried it, it was so good! I think that's when I started to like tomatoes.

Spinach, scrambled eggs, tomato.  I'm sure there's more that's all I can think of now.

Coconut used to be something I would spit out if I got some in my mouth as a kid......even just one little flake would make my taste buds revolt.

Now, I rather enjoy coconut.  It is best in a brownie bar!

Yes, I used to absolutely hate broccoli and cauliflower and now I love them both, particularly with sour crème on top. Also used to hate fish and now am a big fan of fish and chips. And oh yes, also used to hate avocado and now love it sliced up with balsamic vinegar on top.

I liked cold baloney when I was a kid, but I don't think I can eat it anymore. The same for peanut butter.

I hated coconut. Didn't like the texture. Now, I eat it specifically for the texture. Was never a fan of fish. It was too soft. Can't say I'd choose it over beef or chicken, but I can eat it now with no problem.
