Take it from some one who knows, the stationery bike is less strenuous than walking on a treadmill or just plain walking.

The best exercise is the one or ones that you enjoy doing and will continue.  For me personally, I like to mix it up and vary my routine.  I guess maybe I can't call it a routine if I'm going to vary it, huh?  lol    :-\

Anyway, find what you like and do it regularly.  The more you exercise, the more you will like it.   :thumbsup:

If you're just starting out, start slowly and then progress in time and speed.  Your whole body will thank you for taking the time to care.

The treadmill because you can do a lot of different things on (incline, walk backwards, etc.), plus most come with special workout programs built-in.

Walking outside works the best for me. The fresh air is good for you and the scenery can make the time go by much faster.

I prefer to walk, but treadmills are great for burning calories.

I love walking/hiking and would do this whenever possible - outdoors. I think the treadmill is terminally boring.  Recently I've had some issues with my knee and have been swimming laps at the Y.  This is incredible exercise and I feel like I'm gaining a lot from doing this regularly.

I do the elliptical and walk on the treadmill for about half and hour.  If I just walk around the neighborhood, even twice, I don't think that's even a half hour, but I always loved to walk-at beach and in the woods. :monkey:

Personally, I'd rather walk outside.

I get bored sitting on a stationary bike, or on a treadmill.

Outside, there is so much to see that it doesn't get old.

Walking is the best exercise.  I only use the tread mill in the winter when the weather is bad   :rainbow:
