sometimes it is hard to do. Especially when you have someone who would rather spend then save. If two people can't be on the same page what is the point of one being frugal?

I have been frugal most of my life and now it's finally paying off.  Putting money away early is the key, and I wish I started earlier.  But I have a little to help me through retirement, I hope.  Most everyone considers me "cheap", but I don't care.  I want to enjoy my retirement.

i am extremely frugal while my husband really could care less if the bills are paid on time.  this is why i do the grocery shopping as well as pay all the bills.  you both shouldn't go hog wild just because one of you cant learn how to keep their fingers out of the til.

I started early and now all of my friends are complaining that they don't have any money so i don't regret it.
I agree it has been hard. I've passed up on a lot of "fun" things because they were too expensive.

People complain about me being frugal until they're broke from spending and need to borrow money

For me the best way is to grow a really good garden and learn how to can - you can really set yourself nicely for the winter and save lots of money!

I find it hard to spend money on the extra things.

I have been finding myself get more and more frugal over the years. But i had to learn to balance otherwise it feels like you are working for nothing. Every few months me and my hubby go on a shopping spree

I agree that it is hard when two people don't agree but since I don't have a partner I can be frugal easily

It is hard to be frugal, but in the end it always pays off.

With everything going on lately, including this healthcare issue with rising payments, being frugal is even harder because of not having hardly enough left over, after paying everything that needs to be paid.  Many salaries are not going up, yet everything else is going up with cost. But it does pay off being frugal, no matter how little is put aside, consistently.

I was raised frugally, so I guess I'm pretty "cheap," although I think I'm getting a little more spendthrift now than I used to be (I guess I spend to much time online!) But it's nice to have money when you need it for an emergency. And I'm hoping to eventually have enough for a good down payment on a home of my own someday.

You can start being frugal for yourself - tell the spender to pay for it himself

It is important to be a good steward of money.  For that reason, I buy my clothes at thrift stores. You can find some great bargains at thrift stores.  Yes, I think I am frugal.
