I have/had what they call knee sarcoma. It started as a little lump which grew until it covered my whole knee. I've had 2 operations: one to take the "meat" and cancer off my knee where my patella (knee cap bone) was totally exposed for a week and then the second operation cut a muscle from my leg and laid it over the knee and had a skin graft to cover that, then 30 days of radiation. All in all, 3 weeks in the hospital and still doctoring every 4 months and have a CT scan of the lungs every 4 months to make sure it doesn't come back. They said I was cancer free about 5 times so far and, according to a web site, my sarcoma was a very aggressive type (I'll vouch for that. It took over my knee in 3 months) but very, very rare. It usually goes into the bone and when that happens, the chance of losing the leg is 99%. Mine was caught just in time. If I hit 2 years being cancer free, I might just be okay. Five years is better.
So many things can cause cancer and I kinda don't believe anything about the antioxidants keeping it away anymore. We eat a lot of tomatoes in various forms along with other fresh veggies that are supposedly antioxidants. I do believe it's due to the insecticides and pesticides used on veggies and in the homes (spray stuff we use), plastics and/or any products made from oil, etc. People years ago didn't get cancer like today and they didn't have all these plastic products, either. In fact, I just read an article about dog toys made of vinyl making pets sick and/or to the point where they die. It seems that if you use any consumer goods anymore, you're chances are pretty good for getting some type of cancer unless you have an overly strong immune system.
