Robert Downey Jr as Ironman
« on: October 29, 2013, 12:49:21 pm »
Sad to hear it's over. With the exception of the avengers 2 and 3 of course. There will not be another ironman movie, least not with him in it. I heard a good idea of how to remedy this whole situation, but I doubt marvel will do it. Ironman gets trapped in some kind of cocoon and when he is relesed he is young again. Can bring in a new fresh face, and a young one, and sign him to a huge contract, that will have him around forever. what you think? how should they continue with ironman without downey jr? because I gaurentee they will.

I'm actually glad because too often producers feel the need to hurry up and make movie sequels which aren't even impressive.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

Like the Ironman "cocoon" idea. Those movies were exciting to watch and Robert Downey, Jr. was great for the part, but an aging Ironman would not make for very good sequels.

I found both Ironman 2 & 3 to be disappointments, so a fresh start wouldn't be a bad thing.

He is a pretty good actor. He plays the role of iron man pretty well.

That sounds like a good idea.  They can always do it like they did the Star Wars movies.  Go in reverse order.  Old in one movie and then young in the next.  I like Robert Downey, Jr.  I'm glad he got his life turned around from the drug abuse.
Have a wonderful day!

I think sometimes they over do certain movies. Maybe it's best that there will be no more IronMan movies. I do think that Robert Downey Jr. should play the role of Houdini. I think he would be great at that part, if of course they were going to make another Houdini movie that is.

I think that Robert Downey Jr. is an excellent Tony Stark.  I hope that they get someone comparable to replace him.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I liked the 3rd Iron Man movie the best. So it's nice he's going out on a high note. On the other hand, I don't think anyone can quite pull off Iron Man the way Downey did. He was perfect for that role.

I liked both, but they could turn down the violence if they make another one... both were very violent...

I thought Robert Downey Jr played a great Tony Stark/Iron Man.  It would be hard to replace him. As for conitinuing with Iron Man, could go in reverse order like Star Wars or Tony and Pepper has a son and the son takes over the franchise.

Robert Downey Jr has come such a long way since his down and out drug days where he was in the news every day about some drunk/drugged up act of disorderly conduct. I read an article yesterday about how he is going to be one of the first actors to become a billionaire form his efforts and that most of his grounding from the drug highs came from his wife Susan. One of his former producers said that he has become stagnant and unimaginative in his acting because of having a drug free system (but the producer is happy that Downey choose this path). In an interview from Downey in Playboy, a few years ago, he stated that he didn't rule out a return to drugs...just being honest and frank. The Ironman franchise will live on-Hollywood has banked good coin off of it and they aren't going to let go.

I have never been able to see Robert Downey as the Ironman.  There is something so wrong with him being in the role.  Just as he tried to play Sherlock Home-he missed that something about the role and he should not have played the starring role in that.  Jude Law should have played Holmes and Downey as Dr. Watson.
