I used to bake bread often. Not so much now, because my kids are grown, and it seems like a lot of work for just me.

As long as you start with a good recipe and your yeast isn't too old, you should be ok.

I bake bread at least twice a week. For your first time don't use a complicated recipe. A simple white or wheat bread recipe should calm your fear. I can't remember being anxious about baking for the first time. I made a challah bread and I got a little nervous about that one. I have a simple bread recipe that only needs one rise and it produces one loaf. PM me if you want it.

I had a hard time the first time I baked bread.  I could ever get the middle to cook.  What I did was cover the bread the last half of cooking and it cooked!

not hard to make and bake bread quite easy if you follow the instructions to the recipe. If you do then you will find it very easy to make almost any bread of your choosing

I've baked my own bread for years.  I taught myself with the Fannie Farmer cookbook.  They keep the instructions simple and have sections to teach about processes and ingredients.  I used to make my bread by hand, but these days I have a time saving bread machine.  It's not hard, but it does take time, mostly waiting for it to rise.  Get all your ingredients ready, read the instructions carefully and follow them closely.  You can experiment after you've gained experience.

We use to bake our own bread. It is so different than store bought. Eating home made baked bread and real butter is ALMOST as good as eating chocolate.

Just find a good recipe and follow the  instructions don't skip details especially about the rising times and methods and you will be fine. It's easier than it sounds and be warned it doesn't taste nearly as good if you keep it longer than 24 hours. I was in my thirties when I started and got used to it real quick.

GOOD LUCK

Get a easy receipe , take your time, read the directions.  Yeast is tricky if you not get the right temp of water.    Enjoy and good luck.

I made 60 loafs of banana bread and sold just about all of them at a craft fair.  They went good.  Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

I learned how to make sweet breads - like banana and zucchini - when I was growing up and would make them every so once in a while.  Those are pretty easy - just mix the ingredients, pour and bake.

Then I got a great cranberry bread recipe and added that to my list.

Last summer I started baking my own honey wheat bread (a 3-rise bread).  I found the recipe on allrecipies (I think) - and it was the easiest raised bread recipe.  Mix the ingredients, rise, mix more ingredients and knead into a ball, rise, cut ball into 3 pieces and put in loaf pans, rise...then bake.  Most of the time is waiting for it to rise.  The mixing was really easy.  As a result, I haven't bought bread at the store for over a year now.  That bread recipe is that good (in my opinion)...plus I'm saving money not buying bread at $3/loaf...

I'm not a bread fan. I did try making white bread years ago but didn't have the patience for letting the bread rise.
I love making homemade banana and pumpkin bread there are also great quick bread mixes available. Good luck and have fun with the bread! :peace:
