Men VS. Women
« on: October 23, 2013, 10:41:32 am »
last night me and my man got into an arguement because it was late when we got home from doing errands. although he was tired, I was not and since I know we are on a tight budget until pay day; I decided to cook. I was going to make a quick 30 minute meal that we can both use to take for lunch for work and he get mad at me. My man thinks this was a stupid idea and i think it was me being considerate. What do you think FC family?

i appreciate anyone making me a meal, no matter what it is.  sounds like to me he was just being grumpy gus.  if he doest it all the time, then i might worry, but if its just an isolated incident, just let it pass.  we can be right, or we can win, but we cant have both.

You didn't tell us why he thought it was stupid or what his alternative to a home cooked lunch is...  Personally I cook all the time and rarely eat out.  It's cheaper, tastier, customized and better quality since I know everything that's in my food, when I cook it.  When I worked outside the house I always cooked my work meals.  I'd say you had a good idea.  It was considerate and loving.  "Stupid" is a harsh comment.  If he had to have lunch with a client or his boss the next day then it wasn't the best timing, but he could have told you better.  :peace:

That is selfish of him.  Making him food was thoughtful of you.  I appreciate anyone taking time to make me food. Homemade meals are always better than eating out.

You were being considerate. Hmm never heard of a man not liking a home cooked meal.

You were being thoughtful and considerate to think enough of him to fix enough for him to take a homemade meal for lunch.  Men do not think along those lines.  I have a hubby who can see a bunch of food in the refrigerator, and acts like he is rich. His sister cooks more food than she can eat, so there are times when she will drop off extras to us.  He still expects me to cook.  I fried chicken wings last night, and he thought I was fixing dinner.  I told him I wasn't fixing anything else because we had leftover food in the fridge and so he found greens and cornbread.  I bought turkey parts and he didn't want them, so I cooked neckbones and a pan of cornbread.  He found some more greens, so he is fixing his plate.  I plan to eat some pasta salad his sister dropped off with the other food.  Men are strange creatures of habit. Maybe he doesn't want his co-workers to know he cannot afford to buy lunch and had to "brownbag" it today.  I don't think your idea was stupid at all. :o :o :o

I don't know whats up with that but it seems to me that he was being selfish and not appreciative at all. So no I do not see it as a stupid idea, you was just being nice.

That's definitely a good way to save money - buying lunch out can add up over time!  However, you should discuss this with him - he may have a good reason for not wanting to take his lunch.

That sounds considerate to me. I'm a little baffled and think it's a little weird, to be honest, that he would get mad. But if he was tired that could explain it. I know that when I'm out of it sometimes any little thing, nice or not, can make me really grumpy.

AGREED... sounds like someone does not appreciate a good woman who lies to cook and is trying to save money???? My ex and I would get into arguments like this (mind you I did say EX) I felt so unappreciated. He side.... A home cooked meal meant nothing to him. He was satisfied with fast food. Also I think my cooking took away time we could spending together (quality time is important I guess). GEESH I hope all men are not like this!!! Because I am a thrifty, love to cook a home cooked meal kind of woman!!

O... for me, bringing our own meal to office or school or somewhere else is very best choice.
But may be your man is not in the good time.

It seemed like you were trying to be nice and make dinner.  I don't see what the big deal was!

I think that is a great way to cut back on expenses and I think more people should consider cut backs like that.  But I don't really see how this has anything to do with men vs women.

The best way to solve this old problem: "Women vs men...and men vs women" is "do not get into each other nerves!"
