What's your favorite nostalgic retro candy?
« on: October 21, 2013, 10:08:23 am »
Mine was the red lipstick candy.  This candy must have needed the red dye #5 in it because they did not remake the recipe without it -- just discontinued it because of this poison.  Very sad about it. Wanted to make a cake and frosting with this flavor and color red ohohmy.

One of my favorites is still around today but I remember getting pixie sticks and eating them. Although back in the 80's you could find the giant one easier then you can today. But eating one of those at a time was not good....such a sugar high.

I'd have to say that my favorite retro candy would be salt water taffy.  It reminds me of the times I would spend on vacation at the beach with my family.  We would walk the boardwalk, enjoying all of the sites, sounds and smells.  And of course we all would have a little piece of taffy.   :D

Mike and Ike although they have a new package seen at the 99cent store. I also like lifesavers but are hard to find sometimes. Pixie sticks ofcource, there are more, this reminds me I need to get more Halloween candy.

I have several favorites.  Pixie sticks which are still around and red hots, although can't eat as many of these as I use to.  Mary Jane even tho it feels like it is pulling out my teeth.

I don't know if anybody remembers or ha seen this but there use to be this hard candy in a 3d triangular shape with peach and yellow stripes, and it is filled with coconut. It came in a clear cellophane bag. It was called peach something or other. Man those things were awesome, I used to eat so many I'd cut my mouth up as a kid......ahhh memories

I remember going to the corner store and getting now and laters (I think that's how it's spelled), along with lemonheads and grapeheads. Yes, those were the days. I'm surprised I didn't get any cavities back then.
