My favorite recipe is apple crumble.  Sauteed apples in a little oil, sugar and cinnamon.  When half softened place in a bowl and top with a crumble mixture of sugar, butter and flour, plus more sugar on the top for the crunch. Hot apple crumble and a scoop of vanilla ice cream is delicious. :P

Nothing beats a homemade apple pie with ice cream on top. I used to go to a bakery that made a mean apple horseshoe. That was basically an apple pie shaped like a horseshoe and it was out of this world. You had to call the bakery and have them hold it for you because it was so popular, they couldn't make them fast enough.

I like to get 6 or 7 apples, peal and core them then slice them up, put them in a saucepan with enough water to cover them, add a little sugar and cinnamon and let them cook until soft and firm but not mushy.   I call this "apple pie filling" without the crust!!!!

My favorites are homemade  applesauce and Crumble. I am filling up my freezer with apple sauce to enjoy during the winter.

I like apples it does not matter how they are fixed. Or just grab one and eat it. Good for you. The crisper the better.

I like apple dumplings or apple crisp, both of which must have vanilla ice cream on top!

I buy a lot of things with apple as one of the main critical ingredient, but I don't do much with apples beyond eating as is or if I'm quickly going to slice one up and eat with peanut butter.  Yum!

I spent most of yesterday making apple sauce and freezing it. I also plan to do an apple crunch at the end of the week. You can do so much with apples. I don't do as much with apple pie any more because the crust isn't good for you but the crunch is quick easy and always good.
