I am sure that most who complain has not really taken into fact that millions who are not insured will sign up. Second have you ever thought that your employer does not want to carry you anymore because they know that if they were in ACA it would have them not make more money off you for paying a ACA fee to enroll. After all they have been exempt of fees for a year. Also most who complain did not want Obama as President. Research for yourself because most who comment are just like the ones who say the main stream media is a joke. Yet they are the ones who bring professionals on and others to educate you. Mr. Gupta and many others seem to think there is a fine line.

Nope, and I'm glad I don't have to. However, my employee health insurance rates doubled in 2012 as a direct result of its passage. I had to increase my deductible by 5, then a month later developed a catastrophic illness and would have died if I had been home alone. I will never get my medical bills paid off, and it's all because of Obamacare.

I'm not sure how that's possible...all the variables in your story seemed scattered. The ACA won't go into effect till 2014, so I'm confused here. You could have just opted for private health insurance, right?

Just curious - how many people who have said they will definitely not sign up actually have health insurance?

Why would anyone sign up  bootyshake and accept Socialism in the United States of America?  dontknow
It is a CRIME - what Obama has done to America during his term of office!
so sad...  crybaby2 to think that the American people have let themselves be so blinded  BangHead by someone such as him.  Shocked

If we're talking about national security, yes. Obama should be impeached for supporting and funding unconstitutional things such as the NSA. BUT...if you think Obama and his cronies are the criminals for trying to improve a broken and unfair healthcare industry, you obviously know nothing about how terribly and immorally run the health insurance industry has been for the last 10+ years.

You expect honest statistics within a community primarily made up of Fox News lovin' republican whiners?

Sign up for what?  There is NO SOCIALIZED MEDICINE!  There is an individual mandate put in place for 2014. You must buy insurance from a PRIVATE insurance company. (free market)  If you earn less than 100% of the federal poverty level you DO NOT have to buy insurance and you WILL NOT be penalized.  If you earn more than 100% of the federal poverty level, you will get a subsidy paying for most of your premium.  If you are collecting pennies on this site, you fall into one of these two categories.

I do love that on this forum people rarely let "facts" or knowing what they are talking about stop them from posting.

This is correct.

I heard on the radio that the system was seriously messed up. No one could sign up for it. Very poor planning.  :sad1:

You probably would be better served not signing up for it anyway.  :bs:

I am very thankful for this act. The insurance I have now I can barely afford and hardly covers anything. I am a Diabetic and the costs just to stay alive is ridiculous. Looks like I can get free or heavily discounted insurance that is much better than I currently have.

It reminds me a lot of when Social Security was implemented.  There was much of negativity and problems in getting the bill up and running.  Now many seniors depend on it.  They are proud also that they paid for it (except for some low-lifes who get disability for made-up illnesses and conditions.  I personally know some of them.)  I for one am happy for Social Security retirement.  I've been paying into it for fifty years, and now the relatively small monthly payments my husband and I get are a large part of what we live on.  So many people without health insurance get health care from the government.  And there are many who go to the ER and can't pay for it.  The rest of the population pays for that.  In my opinion, the AHA is a good plan.  The sign-up system needs some work.  Many of those who can't afford the premiums will still get stipends from the government to pay for it.  Some people will pay very little.  I see so much every day on Facebook and in other media that is passed along as Gospel truth, and much of it is far from the truth.  Every time I see a political post on FB, I research it or at least look it up on Snopes.  Most of it is made-up stuff that has been circulating year months and years.  Why do some people believe everything they see or hear?    Can't we use our own brains and powers of reasoning?  I heard something long ago:  Don't believe anything you hear or half you see.  I live by that.

As with most legislature, there will be some that will benefit from the ACA but it will come at the expense of others. The issue that I have always taken with the law that deals more with trying to promote universal insurance instead focusing on lowering overall healthcare costs. However, I'm ready for it be fully implemented. I think that is inevitable that there will be some changes to the law once people realize what it actual does and not just what they think it does.

has any one successfully signed up yet  I still haven't still don't really know whats its like
Be careful for those navigators. I have heard from a licensed agent that these people do not really lnow what they are doing. They will sign you up for something aston12you can afford alright, b ut then you find out uyou have no real coverage. And we are not even going to talk about the deductible. Talk to an agent who will explain everything to you. I was told there are about 43 plans. That is a lot to digest.

Yep this affordable care act or better known as "obamacare" is such a crock.

Just saw an article on Yahoo called "Gripes About obamacare" which is also on cnnmoney.com "Top 4 obamacare Complaints"

Stating just what a crock this is:

1. I can't log in
2. My info's not right
3. THE COST IS TOO HIGH
4. MY EMPLOYER IS RAISING MY PREMIUMS BECAUSE OF obamacare

So, if you think this is NOT going to affect you - maybe you ought to think again  :dontknow:

Well, it seems to be working in Massachusetts.

Of course, they call it "Romneycare" there.

I am lucky enough to have insurance through my husband's workplace.  Hopefully they get that website fixed soon!
