i guess it depends on the meaning of an idiot, or is it just some one that does not have all their marbles. It is easier for me to just walk away from some people spouting off like this guy was doing. I will not argue with them because you can never win because they don't understand or listen. Bout sure hope they are not passing their genes down .

One of the things I love about living in America is that everyone is free to speak their mind.  That being said, I, too, get upset when people spout off about things that are so contrary to how I believe.

Sounds like this person falls into the same category as those who go around saying that there was no Holocaust. It has always been difficult to figure these people out.

Can you imagine what it must be like to be that paranoid?? It must be horrible. Those kind of people are difficult for us to deal with but I have to feel bad for them. They live with those fears every day. We had a neighbor like that. He drove us crazy but when he moved the new people said he was so scared that he had nailed shut all his windows so no one could get him. Sad.

I remember someone telling me that there were people who said the astronauts did not actually go to the moon, that it was all fake.  I am sure there are different types of reasons for those who do not believe historical events.  Some may just be unable to wrap their minds around the enormity of the event; others may have a mental illness characterized by paranoia in which everything is a conspiracy.  Still others are influenced by strong cultural/sub-cultural bias.  The best response probably is no response at all because you are not going to change their minds.
