Longest Trip you have ever taken
« on: September 08, 2013, 02:34:38 pm »
What is the longest trip you have ever taken?  For me it was a circle trip around the United States by train where I boarded in Shelby, Montana, to Seattle, Washington.  Than from Seattle to Los Angles, CA.  From Los Angles to El Paso, Tx where I visited a week with my mom.  Than from El Paso to Dallas where I spent New Years and than from Dallas, Tx to Chicago, Il.  And my final leg was from Chicago back to Shelby.  When I added it all up it was about 5,000 miles.

I have two. One was from Ohio to South Dakota. a two day drive that took probably about 20 or 21 hours to complete.

The second was this past Christmas when I went to Destin, Florida. It wasn't a bad drive until I got stuck in the back roads in Alabama. Driving back was a pain as I got stopped on the freeway in Kentucky for over an hour, so I was in my car with the exception of stopping for gas for over 13 hours. Not fun. :(

left n.m,  went to Denver co, up to Montana then to Idaho, Utah, all over Washington and Oregon, back down through Utah again the Arizona and back to N,M, It was a great trip and we were gone almost 3 months and 2/3 was traveling. Little over 5,000 miles. Also have made a bus tour of from n.m. all the way up to Ohio and that was a little over 3,000 miles. But the longest air flight was to Alaska. It was beaitful/ But would not like to live there. Have also been to Canada and Mexico on the coast. But there is still a lot of America i would like to see.

I used to drive semi with my husband and I got to see the United States and get paid for it. We also got to visit relatives that we hadn't seen for many years. And see adventures like the caves in Virginia and many other sites. the was the best time in my life and I really miss it. but I am retired now and I leave to the younger generation.

I have traveled for 5,000 miles.  I don't know how long Colorado Springs, Colorado is from Texas, but it was a long trip, for me, by car with only restroom and gas breaks.  We spent one night in Ft. Collins, Colorado.  Well, that all that I can remember about this trip.

I took a trip that seemed to last forever just because I was stuck on a Greyhound bus.  I traveled from Southern Utah down through Vegas to Phoenix, Arizona to see my son graduate from Physician Assistant school.  I had a 5 hour layover, in the middle of the night, at a Greyhound Station in downtown Las Vegas.

What can I say?  I live and learn.
Have a great day!

My longest trip began in Chicago, IL to Los Angeles, CA, where I spent two weeks with my sister.  I rode the bus, and that trip ranged to 4,476 miles (2,238 miles each way.  I left on Friday morning and did not get to California until Sunday.  I had a trip where I left Chicago on my way to Tupelo, MS.  With the layovers, it took me nearly 24 hours to get there.  I had a long layover in Memphis, TN, and had to wait in Tupelo for the longest.  That is because my sister is slow as Christmas.  She started to mow the yard, fell in the mud, and it took her husband, who was then her fiance, less time to get to me than it did my sister, niece and daughter.  I finally saw them 5 hours after I got to Tupelo. ??? ??? ???

My longest trip ever was a flight to Beijing, China with stops in Los Angeles and Tokyo. It took about a whole day to get there. Another long trip was to Sydney, Australia with my husband and kids. You really have to love to fly to go on such long trips by plane.

For me it would be from Ga to New Jersey mileage wise. But in hours even though it takes an average of 14 hours to Jersey I would have to say hour wise is when my husband and I were transferred up to Richmond VA from Augusta, Ga only to be transferred down to Atl 9 months later and having an 11 month old baby in her car seat of the moving van and our car towed behind it. It took as long if not longer then going from Augusta to Trenton.
