Faking Pregnancy?
« on: September 07, 2013, 08:08:40 am »
What are your thoughts? I was listening to the radio the other day and they were discussing the sale of 'positive' pregnancy tests on Craigslist. The purchasers would use these tests to snare a person that they had made love to and try to get them to marry them. Most of the respondents said that they were merely forcing a loved one's card ie they had been dating for over five years and it was time to stop avoiding the commitment.  I am not a fan of this particular mode of enticement. If someone isn't ready to get married than don't force the issue. If a person truly wants to get married and they are in a relationship that isn't headed in that direction it is time to say 'next'.

I agree.  I wouldn't want to be married to anyone who didn't love me or want me.  And using a test like that to trap a person into marrying me is not an option.  I want to take my time and get to know the man I marry (I married my husband after knowing him for 2 years).  If a man is in such a hurry to marry me and won't take the time to know me, something is wrong with that picture and he is not the person I want to spend the rest of my life. ??? ??? ???

I did hear about this.. I thought it was a complete joke.. It sounds like something right out of a lifetime movie i watch. I was horrified to actually think someone can go through with that.. Making a commitment to something is a very big deal. Forcing people into something like that is just very heartbreaking and cruel.. Let alone.. Faking something like that how would you pull off the rest of it? In one case the guy could really want to have a baby and the other the guy could really not want a baby and bolt.. So that plan could also backfire.. What kind of person would you be though if you went out to purchase one of those and completly lied about everything.. You don't force people into something they are not ready for.. Those are HUGE steps.. People are always preaching to guys.. If you make it you can take the responsibility .. But if they get tricked where the hell has their choice gone? I think this should be considered the disgrace of our nation.. Where the hell does freedom come into play because that is far from freedom ..Also You got to look at what it is going to do to the guys.. If a girl really does get pregnant they might think it's fake and leave them because they think they are about to be punked or forced into something.. That outcome will be pretty sad.. There is thousands of reasons why Someone should not go through with fake pregnancies.. Ugh .. horrible to even think about..........In all my years i have been alive i have seen some stupid things.. But this is by far in the top stupidest ....

stuff like that when found out and it always comes out just causes resentment and anger towards the person pulling the stunt. Entrapment is messed up and the person trying to trap someone that way should be thrown in jail. IN a way thats fraud considering there tricking them into something falsly presenting them self to there partner & that should be criminal just like other types of fraud

This is totally foolish. Why would you want to trick someone into marrying you anyway? If they don't love you enough to ask you to marry them (without the trick) than why would you want to be married to them?

That is so stupid.  Why would you try to trick someone into marrying you if they haven't asked you.  I have two questions to girls who do this 1) in this day there is no reason why he MUST marry you just because you are "pregnant", so what's the point and 2) what are you going to do/say when the truth comes out...do you think he will stay with a lie?  I'm not a man, but I would think if my girlfriend lied only to get me to marry her, what other lies will she tell me as we continue to be together?  I would head for the door and get myself a lawyer!

Lies dont solve anything. If he isnt ready time move on. He doesnt sound like he is into getting married.

Now I've heard everything. My daughter had a friend who became pregnant on purpose don't know what happened to her.Last I heard she was living with her sister not the father. all around bad idea. If this is on ebay they shouldn't let them sell it.

This is illegal!! I would go after the manufacturer that is making a "positive" pregnancy test!! I could see a desperate person faking pregnancy but, a Manufacturer making a "positive pregnancy test" that is totally immoral.

The only folks who could see this as positive are divorce lawyers.  A marriage that begins with lies and manipulation is destined for failure.

oh that's just dumb!

i mean, what are you gonna tell them when your stomach doesn't grow big? you got a miscarriage? cause then you'd have to keep hiding pads and tampons from the guy you want to marry.

obviously whoever buys those false pregnancy tests, they're desperate.

that's just one like after the other. it's gonna be a big mess..
i don't agree with this either..

I recently was reading this on the internet. I think it is horrible. This would cause trouble for all parties involved including the woman providing and selling the positive pregnancy test.
