Glucosamine/chondroitin is the best thing for my arthritis. I also use ibuprofen, but it isn't tolerated well by many people. I have had to postpone knee surgery twice, so at this point, it may never happen. New Balance shoes are great for knees as well.

I take prescription med for pain.  But I had to have a knee replacement Jan. 2012 and it is better.  I can not tell there has ever been anything wrong with it.  Hope everyone has a good weekend and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

my mom has that in her knee.  she goes once every three months and gets a shot in it to help the pain.  its a mixture of cortisone and demeral (sp?) ... doesn't stop the pain completely but it makes it where she can at least walk on it.

I also take Glucosamine Chondroitin.  I use to take a prescription medication for the pain, but my liver enzymes started going up, so my doctor took me off of this.  I need to lose some weight and I think it would not hurt as much.
