« on: September 03, 2013, 02:50:34 am »
Do anyone enjoy eating sugary foods and carbs, that seem to be
my down fall. I do ok with the rest of the foods, but I like something
Sweet everyday.

I'm a sugar addict if there is such a thing. I crave sweets all the time. I've given them up just recently but although it's been a week since I've had any sugar I still crave it especially after supper.

If I have candy and desserts in the house, I can't leave them alone.  So I don't have them in the house very often.

I love my sweets as well.  My husband is the biggest sweets-a-holic.  He purchases more cookies and ice cream, and he and my grandson eats them up, unless it is something chocolaty and peanutty.  Then I get my share.  He knows I am not such a fan of marshmallows, so he will buy anything containing marshmallows to make sure I don't get any. :icon_rr: :female:

I am trying to wean myself off sweets (or at least the craving for them).  I have done it before and once I get past the "weaning" stage I can do without them.  The problem is trying to substitute a healthy snack on the go that does not rev up the carb hunger.  Raw nuts work pretty well for that, are portable, and healthy if not eaten in excess.

I once heard a preacher quip that "before the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, chocolate cake was good for you."  lol.

It takes a little longer than a week to clean out your system of the cravings, but hang in there-- it can be done and you will be so proud of yourself.

I enjoy everything in moderation. I track all of my food so if I'm eating junk I make sure I'm still eating the right amount of calories/fat/carbs for that day

My sisters, me and a friend were suppose to start NOT eating sugar  on Sept. 1st. All of us failed   :crybaby2:
being the holidays did not help with cook-outs and such.
Thinking maybe I should just limit myself to a small amount each week - which is really hard  :BangHead: because our whole family and my friends all llllloooovvve  sweets.
But I'm gonna keep trying til I eventually can overcome this passion for sweets  :sad1:

Carbs are more my weakness vs. sweets... sweets are easier to avoid.
