What is the first book you read that made you love to read?

Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, I was around eight then. After Anne Frank and then Shakespeare, but NC and HB took the cake.

I was animal crazy, especially horses. I read Black Beauty, then Black Stallion, return of the Black Stallion, and some others I don't remember.  We had to write book reports and my teacher told me "no more horse stories", that's when I read old yeller. Later on I read "Where the Red Fern Grows" twice.

That book by C.F. Hawthorne called "For every black eye".
It's a good book for women that have been in abusive realtionships to read.Very inspiring.

I love horror genre books when i was little, soooo my very first & favorite books back then was the Goosebump Series lol. I collected them all & actually still have them

When I was 9, I read "Alice in Wonderland." From that moment on, I was HOOKED.

Mine was Palamino, by Danielle Steele.  I now own every one of her books in hardback.  I also now read Sue Grafton, Janet Evonavich(sp?), John Grishom.  I love them all.

Hard to say really. I read soo very much as a child. I read all of the Little House on the Prairie books, allot of Nancy Drew, The Bobbsey Twins , My Sweet Audrina (which led me to all of the other wonderful V.C. Andrews books!), The Indian in the Cupboard, TONS of Beverly Cleary  books and soo many more!

I dont remember the very first book i read, but i read all the time now.  i have a bookshelf in my bedroom and i keep all my books there.  v.c. andrews used to be my favorite, now i would have to say fern michaels.
