The Novels of Tiger and Del- by Jennifer Roberson (series of 4 novels Sword Dancer, Sword Singer, Sword Maker, Sword Breaker) I was probably 8 or 9 when I read them and they blew my mind, outside of school reading assignmnts and childhood favorites, it was my first page turner and I had never read ANYTHING like them. Plus I think I fet like I was doing something naughty and getting away with t because the series was intended for a MUCH older demographic.  ;)

Oh, I read Pet Cemetary by Stephen King, then moved on to Dean R. Koontz, dont' read too much of that anymore, I am Focused on Scripture, unless an election, and it is slow, I will take a good mystery to read, but that is the only extra time I have.

The first book that made me fall in love with reading was  "The Diary of Nancy"...it is a true story, actually it is an actual diary, of a teenage girl.  It is such an incredible read. I highly recommend it. I will not reveal anything about the book because it is such an amazing and compelling story of this girls life.

Alice in Wonderland was my first love to read book, along with the original Raggedy Ann and Andy books (not the watered down ones of today...)

The first book I read that fueled my love for reading was To Kill A Mockingbird.  It was a required read in the 9th grade.  Since then I read it at least once a year.  I now love to read, and encourage my children to read.

Of course we all had to read *bleep* and Jane when we were little, but what made me starting to love to read was Are You There God?? It's Me Margerite.  Does anyone remember that one??  And what keeps me reading today are novels like The Meaning Of Night.  Very good topic by the way....... :notworthy:
