Absolutely not.... I don't respond to any text msg or phone call while driving... I occasionally look at my phone when I just hit a red light and maybe text a bit but that is all.... If I am waiting on a phone call or it's ringing constantly, then I will pull over to store/parking lot and check it out

To tell you the truth, I sometimes do and I know I shouldn't be doing it.

I don't text or talk on the phone while I'm driving. I can't multi-task very well especially while behind the wheels of a car.

I don't drive so that was never an option.

instead I'm in the passengers texting for the driver or answering their phones

I will only talk on the phone while i am driving, I think it is way to dangerous to text and drive and it puts not only your life in danger but also anyone else's that may pass you on the road! I wish people had enough common sense to not text and drive.

I can't and wouldn't text while driving.  I have enough difficulty talking (hands free) while driving and I only do this now due to the type of work which requires me to be "connected" often. I would gladly relinquish my role as a driver to provide more attention to either option when I do need to use this (or maybe the chance to just chuck my phone as I'm constantly getting pinged).

I talk but don't text.  I know I shouldn't talk either.  Sometimes I'm so tired after work, talking to someone keeps me awake.

I either turn the sound off on my phone or turn my phone off all together before I drive.  For the "in city" driving I do, there's really nothing that important that can't wait until I reach my destination.

I understand talking (hands-free) if you are doing long distance driving and need to keep yourself from getting driving hypnosis.  I know my brother will occasionally call to chat when he's on the road at night - simulating a conversation with a passenger to keep him alert enough to make it to the next hotel to stay the night.

With today's gadgets, voice control/hands-free calling is about as risky as talking with passengers in a car.  It's a distraction, but given the nature of the activity, it still allows you to at least keep your eyes on the road.

Texting, on the other hand, no reason what-so-ever to do this activity while driving.  I haven't seen anyone who can text blindly.  Only exception might be the really upscale cars where you can speak a text and have a text read to you.  Hand-held texting is just not worth the risk to yourself or anyone else on the road.

People used to drive places all the time without cell phones or texting and got on just fine.  Not sure why people find it so hard to just put the phone down for a few minutes to keep them and everyone else around them safe.   :dontknow:

I'm usually a passenger, so I'm usually answering calls/texts for the driver.  When I do drive, I don't do either.

I DO NOT do either one.  I worked in accident investigation for the CHP for several years.  You would be surprised how many accidents are caused by drivers who are overtired, and by drivers who are talking or texting.  They always say the same thing if they are still alive, I looked away from the road for only about 10 seconds.  Count sometimes at different speeds and see how far the cars travel in only 10 seconds.  It is not worth your life, pull over and call or text.

No, it is dangerous to text or talk on the phone while driving.  Sometimes, other drivers who are texting or talking on the phone while driving are so distracted by these activities; they don't pay attention to other drivers.
