I did not see this video. I know I would not have approved of it either.

However, in defense of Miley and all the other young starlets growing up in Hollywood, the sexuality aspect is pushed to the maximum limit. They will not allow them to stay little girls for long. Once puberty sets in, they are fair game for being another sex object for leering old guys. It's like a new crop every few months, since they don't stay fresh too long.

The boys don't seem to be immune to it either. They're made into tiny, little sex symbols as soon as possible. Screaming young girls make for good publicity.

It's all about the money. Shame on the parents for allowing their children to go down that road. Money is good, but not important enough to put up with debauchery, especially involving your own child. Most of them are not responsible enough to manage all that income either, which is just one more stumbling block to them.

I think that may be why all those young girls and young men in Hollywood get so messed up at such an early age. Very, very sad.

I think her act was completely disgusting and can't understand why they allowed it on tv.  I wonder what her parents really think of their daughter, if she were mine I would be so embarrassed.  She is a disgrace to young girls who "want to be like her'.  She did get what she wanted, people talking about her, I guess she doesn't care if it's good or bad, as long as they talk about her.  How sad.

Well her mother was in the front row cheering her on and after the show her father tweeted 'thanking God for so many blessings' so I assume they were just peachy with it.  I have lost all respect for Billy Ray too.  They made her what she is.

I can't believe the performance Miley Cyrus did on the VMA.  I believe the network should have censored her performance.  Just goes to show how vulgar our youth have become and it is being accepted.  I knew Billy Ray and Tish before Billy Ray became "famous".  Needless to say, Miley (or Ariel, as her real name use to be) is her mother's daughter.  Tish use to do a well known pole dance at a local strip club before she & Billy Ray hooked up. 

Weekly gossip/tabloid post of her doing the exact same thing over the past several months.  No surprise plus it's MTV, wouldn't expect anything more.

I didn't see the performance, but I'm not surprised to hear it.  A lot of it is that she became famous quickly and at a young age.  When people become famous at a young age, they seem to go a bit wacky when they grow up.  Lindsay Lohan is a good example of that.  I'm still waiting for the day that it happens to Justin Bieber, though from what I've heard on the radio, it might have started already.  I get that she's getting older and wants to be taken seriously by the industry, but I'm sure there is a different way to handle it. 

As someone mentioned, this is what little teen and younger girls are looking up to and then people wonder why the younger generations are trying to "grow up" so quickly.  I can't tell you how many 12 year old walk into my job with tight tanks, booty shorts, and 4 inch heels.  I really wish Disney and other channels would stop using 20+ people to play a teen on their show.

UGHHHHHHHH! My neice loved her and looked up to you until she changed her hairdo, dresses a little less and especially seeing her on tv the other night! How could she do this to some of these young kids that really liked her! Guess she doesnt care too much. My neice came to me to ask me why she did this and my neice is only 10 yrs old! So disappointed in Miley!! I even liked her.

I didn't see it but I am sick enough of just seeing pictures of her and descriptions of the "performance" on facebook.  I am not a prude but I think its disgusting to be honest with you and agree that it should have been censored.

I only saw it on the news.  She is 20, but I know that Billy Ray is embarrassed.  You know, they got a name for the dance she did; it is called "twerking".  It is not like she cared a lot about being respectful, although she is a role model for young girls.  Makes me glad I don't have young girls.
