7 rules of life
« on: August 26, 2013, 02:53:19 pm »
1---Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
2---What others think of you is none of your business
3---Time heals almost every thing, give it time.
4---Don't compare your life to others and don't judge them. you have no idea what their journey is all about
5---Stop thinking too much, it's alright not to know the answers.  they will come to you when you least expect it.
6---No one is in charge of your happiness, except you.
7---Smile.  You don't own all the problems in the world

I don't no who told these but they sure have meaning

Im having that same struggle.  When your own mother is the one who abused you and could never be satisfied you wind up with trust issues, perfectionism and generally screwed up.  :angry7: :BangHead:  Healing is very slow.  :sad1:

Thanks for posting the rules Aggie.  They're good to aim at.  If you don't know where you're going you won't know what road to take.  :peace:

I smile a lot, because if I dwelled on the problems of this world, I would cry a river.  I loved reading them.  Nobody has the right to judge because only God has that right.  Knowing people, you don't know what they have experienced in this world, and having an opinion doesn't change the fact that you cannot be judge, jury and executioner.  Thanks, aggie49.

Definitely great advice to follow, even though some are harder than others.  I agree with a couple of others, that healing takes awhile when dealt some harsh realities/attacks on self-esteem when a kid.  I will say, though, what happened with me has greatly helped me to "think before I speak" and to have a little extra compassion with others, especially when we don't know what they have gone through or are going through.

@ dkanofsky - I agree with what you said - the Lord is definitely my rock.  :)
