first of all, swine flu was definitely not a pandemic. it never was and never is. like all diseases, it kills some and does nothing to others.

totally overblown by the media. and people believe the media.

Agreed.

I agree as well.  These are getting way out of hand with this swine flu.

Swine flu has killed a few hundred people worldwide. The vast majority were people who had previous health problems. Compare that to the flu epidemic that occurred at the end of WW1. That strain killed over a million. Also, swine flu has mutated since it started to be LESS, not more lethal. This makes sense; a virus spreads more successfully if its hosts don't drop dead. The WW1 bug had no time to do this as the tens of thousands soldiers who carried it came straight from its place of origin (Europe). That's why it was so virulent. Yes, I think some people are overreacting a little. WW1 was a unique situation, unlikely to be repeated.

So funny thing...noone hears a word about it in what a month or more but tonight there is a story on the news?!? That just makes me believe even more that all of these types of things are controlled by the government i mean seriously why would everyone stop talking about it like its not an issue anymore but then all of the sudden what its back?

It was declared a pandemic by the WHO in June 2009.

People saying it's not an epidemic or pandemic obviously don't know how health organizations classify viruses/illnesses.

I think it is God's way of getting our attention.........to remind us who is in charge

So your god is taking the lives of thousands of people and causing thousands more pain/discomfort/health fees...to show us who is in charge?  Pretty cool guy there, I must say.  What a conceited, merciless *bleep*.

My exact opinion! Californians think alike! :D

I'm of the opinion that morons don't think.

As of November 15, 2009, there were nearly 600,000 cases and over 6,500 deaths reported to the WHO.  Flu season is just now starting.  The rate of spread of this strain over the past few months was, as stated by both the WHO and CDC, unprecedented.

I honestly forgot about the swine flu, is it still a big deal?

I honestly forgot about it too.. My Instructor mentioned to me that she  thinks "they" are trying to cover up something bigger who knows. I know of a couple people that have had the swine flu multiple times and they are fine. I believe it is just like any other flu if you have a weak immune system you are more at risk because of complications. But that is as far as i think it can go.

I believe i got the swine flu but i didn't seek medical attention so i guess i wont know for sure. But it did feel different from any other times i have had the flu. So I am pretty sure it was swine flu. All i could do was stay home and not make anyone else sick so that was exactly what i did.
Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little.NEED Help? Check out my Beginners Guide pinned in the Support forum :)
