college's over!
« on: June 11, 2009, 07:52:11 am »
Hi All,

My first post, actually. So after 4 years of having something to do each and every day, college life is now over and my brain is a little confused :confused1:. I have a job, the 9-5, which is probably causing more brain damage than I ever had before. Traveling is way too expensive, graduate school is next year. So....what do I do now?

For all those who finished college already, what did you guys do on your time off besides work and sleep?

If you're headed right into graduate school it sounds like the routine isn't changing much ;) I am still in the undergrad, but am off for summer as well. Besides "work and sleep" I train for endurance sports. I kicked off my summer with a half marathon and I'm focusing on combining everything into triathlon. It's a satisfying way to sustain some purpose of self beyond career. I'm this (holds up two fingers) close to taking it up professionally, but I have to say I don't have the gall to drop everything and go for it atm. I already have some good opportunities for school.

Good luck with everything, stay sane!

but i realized that i'd rather be in school than in the 9-5 loop. for me that's just slavery refined. i really hate it. you have no life, wake up early to go to work, come late to eat, watch some tv, and go off to sleep cos it's all gonna be the same tomorrow. BLEH.

Not that I'm out of college yet, but I wanted to congratulate you on completing college :)
