In general our society has lost most, and in many areas all sense of morality and personal responsibility. Secular humanism has supplanted any moral teachings in our public schools. God has been replaced with 'Techo-god'! SCIENCE is the answer to all man's ills according to the world of academia. Put aside that so much of what passes for science these days is bunk, hokum and theoretical nonsense, it is just accepted to be actual fact and not the farce it has become.

How so?

No it hasn't. You're taught right from wrong as a kid. You learn a lot of these through lessons at school, at home, and/or at a church.

God has been replaced with 'Techo-god'!

Are you saying this god of yours has been replaced by science? If so, you're correct. Mythology is generally replaced by factual answers.

Not necessarily, but methodological naturalism has been exponentially more effective than just "praying for a problem to go away".

It may be promoted as such (aka 'the best answer we have'), but I don't see any untestable/theoretical science being pushed as actual fact.

All I can say is that I feel sorry for the upcoming generation.  When I was younger it was much easier to get a job, trust others in stores, parking lots, leave doors open, go out and play, and so many more differences.  People have little patience anymore and the status of the government doesn't help. ???

The society of yesteryear is obsolete.  This society, as a whole, stinks.  I just don't get what happened.  This society is going from bad to worse. ??? ??? ??? ???

Global warming comes to mind as just one example of 'science' promoting fiction as fact. Climate cooling and warming is part of the natural cycles of the planet. But so called 'science' determined that manufacturing false data to prove man causes it is proof beyond denial of exactly what I am saying. Even though the emails and personal testimony of a number of those that actually created this hoax is out in the open for all to see many 'scientist' still cling to the false propositions, but now call this garbage Climate Change. I could go on with numerous others but there really in no need. There is no rational debate to be had with those that are closed minded on such matters. I know all to well as I was once part of that camp.

Can you provide your sources though? I notice the majority of people denying it are either psycho-republicans, businessmen, or evangelical Christians and the people stating that it's real are actual scientists (including NASA experts). I'd like to read some unbiased information. However I will point out that you are using well-known denial tactics generally used by creationists-

2. Question the motives and integrity of scientists – This is the favourite tactic of the climate change denial movement. They claim the scientists are engaged in fraud, or are being pressured by governments to make up the results. They make up vast conspiracy theories in order to cast aspersions on the motives of climate scientists, physicists and biologists whose work confirms the reality of climate change. They use the “follow the money” argument, stating scientists are making up climate change in order to get research funding. All them are simply ad hominem attacks: playing the man.

I'd actually like to know what those numerous others are! And what camp are you talking about? Skeptics? Scientists?

I BLAME TEH INNERNETS!!! Actually it's just moving forward and always changing for better and worse at the same time. There will always be awful people out there (and unfortunately the media likes to highlight them cuz they're money-makers), but you'd be surprised at just how many decent people are out there too.

WE are society. You, and me, and the other guy.

Are we more fearful of others? Why?
Are we more selfish? Why?
Are we more grasping and greedy? Why?
Are we more immoral? WHY??

We choose how we live. We can buy the bill of goods being sold to us that make us pull in from others, or we can reach out, broaden our horizons, and make a better world.

As a society we are still a strong people. The media makes it all seem much worse because we are able to see and hear of all the negatives so quickly. We need to pay more attention and monitor our selves more closely.  Good breeds good. and people do respond to the positive as well as the negative.

Society has changed a lot from when I was growing up.

A great many kids of today are disciplined less, get away with much, and are very disrespectful to much of authority, including parents, relatives, teachers, neighbors, cops, etc.  Some aren't afraid of discipline or punishment.

There are stronger clashes between Christians, nonbelievers, atheists, other faiths, and groups, such as Westboro, and Freedom From Religion, etc.  Instead of choosing to live how each desires or believes, it seems more and more that people are being challenged, forced, and chided, for their beliefs/non-beliefs.

Attitudes, in general, are not as respectful and kind - as someone else in here said, patience is lacking with many.  The "all about me" attitude is showing with many.  Some seem to forget that their views/thoughts are not the only correct views - there is a lack of acceptance that others do not always share their same views and thoughts.

In the area of income, many people are not receiving raises with salaries, yet are being made to pay more to so many things - such as this healthcare issue, food, gas, taxes, and so much more.  So many are already scraping by.  This healthcare issue is causing concern for many who cannot afford the higher payments coming.

There's more, but I'll stop.  Great question, by the way!
