Have you ever had a massage that hurt or you did not like?

I went to a masage in costa rica to relax and the message was soooo painful she would push really hard on these certain spots with the language barrier she did not understand it hurt i though by squirming around and pushing back she could tell it hurt by my body but she did not get the hint i did not have any pain going into the massage its just my dad offered to treat me and my sisters so i went and had never had one hurt so bad is this normal?
