Is there ever any good news?

Everyday i hear horror stories on the news.. I'm thinking to myself
IS THERE EVER ANY GOOD NEWS?
So around the globe i ask you this question
Was any of your news good today?
I took one look at my news..
not pretty at all
not even the weather

There is always some good news, they just use the awful stories to get your attention.  I just don't hardly ever watch the news.  Just check the weather and hear the highlights.    On our local news they have a teenager of the week, who gets a story about them and a check for some college expenses.  They need to be do some kind of good or community service.  Our area has so many news hours to fill, that they do get to the good stuff too.   But the big leaders area like you said always awful tragedies.

I stopped looking at the news because of that....don't rely on the news to tell you what's going on....if you notice they tell the same story over and over again...that's what gets you...

It was just a few weeks ago when the  royal baby was born.
 It was so refreshing to hear good news come from a "special news
report".

there is always good news --the fact you have another day with loved ones is good and i am sure we could all name lots of things that is good about the day--i got to spend a quiet day on the couch with my fur babies watching Hell on Wheels --the rain hitting the roof --it was awesome!!!

I understand that there are too many horror stories on the news; however, sometimes I hear about a beautiful, wonderful, touching incident that jumps out at me and it makes everything better.  For every sad thing that happens there are people in the world making an effort to make it a better place.

There is good news, but they're often overshadowed by the bad news. At least with the local news I watch there is also a mix of showing appreciation to people doing good things for others.

Many Many Moons ago.  So Many I cannot begin to count them on my fingers and toes.  A Canadian artist by the name of Ann Murry sang a song about this very same subject and her word ring just as true today as they did when she first sang the song, "Little good news today!"  If you get a chance you should go listen to it.

As for my good news we got rain yesterday and are expecting more tomorrow.  So lets see how this works rain makes corn, corn make whiskey. whiskey makes my baby kind of frisky.

No offense but most news these days is a horror movie and were in it just watching at a far. So no not much good news at all anymore. Talking about a royal baby being born isnt good or bad news. Its nothing special because baby's are born every day. Not even sure it is news because of the same point just made in the previous sentence. News in general is boring and a bit depressing & horrible at times. Real good news would a cure for a disease no matter what it is. Not most of the garbage they put in it today which isn't even news at all

Remember that old song some woman sang 'sure could use a little good news today'.  There are good things that happen but they don't usually make the news.  Sad huh.

   You have to go to the beauty magazines or health journals to find the good news. I agree with you: All the news on TV, newspapers, online and some magazines are usually bad news. We live in a pretty messed up world. Try to make some good news for yourself: Listen to new good songs, visit travel channels (not the Weather Channel) and things like that can really make you happy.

Hmmmm...I am sitting here trying to think of something good I heard today but nada thing...the weather is supposed to be beautiful tomorrow
