Am I the only one here thinking they charge too much for smart phones?! Especially they don't seem to last for that long compared to the old fashion ones!!

They cost a lot, but with a contract it's not so bad.  Here's how I look at it - I'm going to have my phone for 2 years, minimum.  I paid about $200.00 for it.  That's $100.00 for a year, 365 days in a year - I'm paying about 27 cents per day for my phone itself, not counting the service (which brings it to about $2.60 per day).  Not too bad considering how much I use my phone and the things I use it for.

I can do pretty much anything on my phone that I can do on my laptop plus I have extra features to utilize . I also make money from doing things on my phone so it's really well worth the cost to me

I guess if you just use it as a basic phone then you don't need a more expensive smartphone in the first place

I agree thats why I always only upgrade when it is a cheaper version.  I don't worry about having the newest and the best.

Yes, the smartphones in itself can be expensive, but they offer a lot depending on if it's always connects you to your online business or business connections.

If you consider that a good smart phone can replace your GPS, laptop, e-reader, MP3-player, portable gaming device, digital camera, etc. then the cost of the smart phone is much cheaper than all of these devices combined.

True, they are expensive, but they do offer lots more than the older phones.  Best choice is to wait a while.  No point in buying a phone as soon as it comes out because that's when they want to charge the most. Wait until the prices go down!

I agree.  Try a family plan with 4 or more phones.  Very costly.

If I remember correctly, I think they started showing up around 1999 or 2000. Only the very rich (and only the ones who actually needed them) had them though. I think the first "modern" smartphones came out around 2002-03.

You certainly aren't the only one.  I think they charge way too much not to mention the fact that your monthly bill goes up with a smart phone.  I refuse to get a smart phone at this point.  If I get to the point where I need one for work, then my company will pay for it.  Otherwise I won't be getting one.

I seem to be heavily reliant on my smartphone for emergencies, networking and for business purposes. I think they're expensive as outside of supplementary plans they can be as expensive as computers, but I also find them indispensible too.

are you kidding me, cell phones are the most expensive gadget on the market, why because so many people want them, instead of making it affordable, they are trying to hike up the prices to make more off the trend

I love my smart phone, I am not one who have to have the newest and best.
In fact my smart phone is about 3 or 4 years old and yes I make money with it. I
believe that if it's not broke don't fix it.

I didn't buy it as soon as it came out either.
