My uncle just left for his 2nd tour in Iraq a couple months. It sucks, but it is alot safer there in Iraq now that it was a couple years ago. My uncle called us a couple weeks ago and was saying how he was playing soccer with the kids there. I believe he is a little south of Baghdad, but I can't remember the name. God Bless our Troops, and may they come home safe.

I am one of the many who benefit from the trials you all suffer while you are away from home and while those of you with military in the family are away from you.  I cannot imagine how disruptive it must be to your lives.  I am older now and was in one of those a year to young for Viet Nam and too old for the next one but God bless all of you who serve for us.  LOL

We have two children in the Military.  Our son is Active Army and our daughter is in the National Guard.

Our son has been deployed to Iraq twice.  Currently he is stateside.  His next assignment will be to Kuwait.

Our daughter just graduated from Basic Training on September 18 on her 19th birthday.  She is currently in the Advanced Individualized Training segment of her training.

It IS hard on the family when they are deployed.  But we are tremendously proud of them and their choice to serve our country.

I cannot keep them safe from harm while they are deployed and in "harm's way".  But, neither can I keep them safe when they are here.  Traffic accidents, disease, etc can all take my precious children from me.

So, I just give them (all 4 of my kids) over to the Lord and let him take care of them for me.

God bless each military person and their families and loved ones.

My husband just came home a few months ago from Korea. He was gone for a year and our daughter was only about 3 months old. It was the best yet awful time of my life. I wished he didn't miss out on our daughter growing up, but at least he'll be here now. My heart goes out to anyone who is either deployed or will be and those who will be left behind here at home, it'll be hard and I wish everyone the best!

Ya, it's funny how American's can kill innocent people from other countries and they are considered "heros". :angry7:  What a bunch of wasted effort, money, and time.  Anyone one is married to someone in the military is a fool, there's no other for it.  You know what the consequences are, so stop crying around.  :'(

how about we all just stop going over there?  Then the terrorists can all come over here and stay at your house for the weekend! :thumbsup:

We all VOLUNTEERED so YOU wouldn't be drafted. :binkybaby:

 I am a marine wife and I know how much deployments can suck. My husband just got back not too long ago from his 2nd tour or Iraq. I get so upset and lonely when he has to go. But then again I guess this is what we signed up for.

I know mine was deployed to Afganistan.. Came hame intact but is mind is still there. I think the army should be more understanding of what happens to our loved ones .I mean aren't we leaving them in their hands..

I'm against war.

To me it is the goverment's legal way of cutting back on human population.  Then we have criminals in jail getting an education. Go figure!

I've got a friend who's sons are in the Marines and when they told me what goes on and what they have to pay and how the one got hurt and is having to fight to get his medcal bills paid makes my blood boil.   Fight for the country and then get screwed over along the way.

WAR   = fear + hate
PEACE = joy  + love
