what would be a nice gift to give a pre-k teacher

My kid is graduating from pre-k and moving on to kindergarden and i want to get his teachers somthing realy nice, Does anyone have any suggestions?

The best gifts I ever received from my kids were either framed photos of the kids (usually picked out by them and personalized by them on back) or notepads/sticky notes with a note or drawing by the kids on the first page.  I always loved those the best!

I used to teach preschool and my favorite gifts were food because I love sweets.  One of my parents gave me a Swarovski necklace.  I never wore it because I don't wear jewelry.  I still have it though.

I agree that food is usually the best way to go. Who doesn't love brownies or cookies??

ooh yeah, you could make her a small basket
with the classic teacher-apple theme...

like an actual apple, apple pie scented candle,
little apple earrings. i've seen a lot of teacher
stuff like that at places like hallmark and it
wouldn't be too expensive if you're creative  

your kid could make her a card and you could
attach it to the handle of the basket with some
alphabet ribbon (just make a trip to michaels )

I always enjoyed getting a card with some momory of what helped the student most that year, or which activity they most enjoyed.  That way, when I look through the card again in years to come, I can always visualize how I might have helped.

we gave flowers or a potted plant
it wasn't planned or discussed but, all of the parents brought in plants and flowers

I belive that plant with flower will b best, when u ask me first think of the teacher in mind. my kid's teacher she dress up well so, i can afford to give her a gud jewellery. but, u have to think her in mind n decide like, u shudnt give a person ornaments who doesnt like ornaments. or in general

food,

picture frame with ur kid and her with some words to explain how she means to ur kid.

I would think that a photo of the child in a decorated (done by your kid of course) frame would be great. Now, I'd also probably look at hiding a miniature bottle of rum (how else can one person be so sane with so many Pre-K'ers) in the gift bag.
