God wants us to love everyone (Love thy Neighbor....)  But it is easier and more fulfilling to love those who are near you - family and close friends.  Also, love comes in many forms.  I love my spouse is a different way than I love my best friend.

I totally agree with you alice44. We should love everyone, even our enemies. But of course for me, God comes first and then of course my husband and family.
