we went to the pool today with our grandson and this other little boy kept picking on my grandson so i walked over and asked his mom to please get him to stop and she just ignore me people should teach there kids that being rude is just wrong in my eyes there is no reason for it

That would have sent me into a rage. What is wrong with her? You told her about the problem and she did nothing?

We no longer eat out at family restaurants or go to the movies for similar reasons. I cannot deal with self centered morons.

Unfortunately there is no shortage of these self-centered ill bred idiots in our society. Just imagine what these children will deal with later in their lives just because their parents are to lazy or stupid to teach them even the basics of good manners. These children are in for a rude awakening!

So sorry you had to deal with that --i guess that its pretty clear where the child learned his behavior from?  manners start at home and children learn from what we teach them --did you tell a lifeguard about the child --they can kick people out for rude behavior

woking in the retail and restaurant businss for years i think i have seen it all. And then turn around and see it all over. Children beenin rude to the parents and others around them. The parents just turn a deaf ear to them.  know what i would have done to my children if i ever caught them being rude.  But since they knew what was going to happen they didn't. Thank God they turned out very well behaved. all of the rueness starts at home.

yeah if you something to them and they start saying he has ahd or bipolar.  we are always going to have people out there like that. it is a shame to. Growing up I never really heard too much on bullying or anything like that.

On the brighter side, it gives you a chance to teach your own children that such behavior needs to be ignored so you can get on with life.

I am also a grandmother to 5 beautiful little girls ages 7-12. I have had this happen to me at the playground one day and since the mother did not correct their child I manage to run him off by just telling him to go away a few times and he finally stayed away. How rude of a parent to not correct their child.

  I know, I'm amazed at how some parents don't care how their children act but then sometimes I am also amazed at how rude adults are.  Men and women in the grocery store step right in front of you - push through the door in front of you like they are in such a hurry their life depends on it.  Seems like rudeness is now the norm.

The fact that you told his mom and she said nothing goes to show you that kids think they have the right to do what they want because the adults let them do what they want.  I would have reported her and had no qualms about it.

That makes you wonder what the parents taught the parents of that child. do you think they know what the word RESPECT means. I do want to know why the youth of America have no concept what it is to be nice. Seems like they believe the rest of us don't matter for some reason. What was lost in translation? But what will the Wake-Up call be? We can only pray the message gets out before our world turns completely selfish and self serving.

You know the sad thing? I dont think these kids are in a for a rude awakening. I think society largley supports this behavior which is why it exists to begin with. The really sad thing is that these kids will be our doctors, nursing home attendants, politicians, etc. How will that work?
